Giving Destiny a break
I am a 52 year old bloke who only got into consoles with the inception of XBox1. I play destiny infrequently for fun and to wind down after some stressful days at work running a business, I am the first to say that I am not that good, however I do enjoy playing this great game and taking part in a great community, however I am now contemplating giving this game up because of abuse from players that are lucky enough to have the skill and dexterity to play this game effectively every time they pick up a joy pad. I have great admiration for people that can play any type of game on a console, however this does not give them the right to try to "bully" their way forward.
My main reason for this post is to say to those people who are impatient with those less fortunate than themselves in the skills they have developed, please remember that Destiny is only a game and for them to be as good as they are there have to be people who are not as good for them to beat in battle. While I am very happy to be one of those that get slaughtered frequently, I am not happy to be abused due to my lack of skill.
So for now I go to contemplate whether to unload Destiny from my console and just enjoy single player games with no abuse.

Some teams are a barrel of laughs, some are helpful. But some teams make me feel like I'm in prison - trying to keep from getting rap*ed.

1 ReplyHave you tried the100.io ? I have met a number of older players on there, and generally the groups and people I've met through there are good people, both in game and out. Its worth looking as you can find groups that fit the playstyle you like! All that said, no reason not to take a break if you're feeling tired! Good luck Guardian!

1 ReplyI'm sorry you had those experiences. I'm not a "great" player, nor are any of the people I play with, but I can say for sure it would've been awesome to have you with us! I stopped playing for the same reasons, along with the release of a few other games. If you decide to play other games, try not to let the rude players get to you. Good luck with the business! [spoiler]i recommend Just Cause 3 or Fallout 4 if you want some single player games![/spoiler]

4 RepliesThe same thing happens in every competitive environment. The strong picks on the weak. This happens in sports. Hell it probably happened in prehistoric times. But there are exceptions. The REALLY REALLY elite will have a soft spot usually.

3 RepliesBrace yourself for the "okay quit" posts, but I understand why you left. I've had about 2 weeks clean from destiny. And it's not because of Fallout 4 or Call of Booty Black Cops 3. I didn't even buy those. The repetitiveness of the game is what finally sent me off.
