Will someone please explain what is going on here?
When I use my Radegast's Fury rocket launcher in Crucible, along with bonus rocket ammo boots (Samsara I), I get FOUR (4) rockets from a pickup -- three in the weapon and one in reserve. Without bonus ammo armor, I get the stock three rockets.
When I use my brand new The Vertigo rocket launcher in Crucible, along with bonus rocket ammo boots, I only get the base TWO (2) rockets in the weapon and no reserve. OK...
BUT... When I add a bonus heavy ammo chest (Alchemist's Raiment) to the mix as a test, I suddenly get FOUR (4) rockets for The Vertigo from a single Crucible pickup -- two in the weapon and two in reserve.
AND... When I swap out the boots for non-rocket boots, I get THREE (3) rockets with just the chest's bonus heavy ammo perk.
Clearly, the boots are giving me the fourth rocket when used with the chest, but they don't give me a third rocket by themselves.
I haven't tested to see if I possibly get five rockets on Radegast with both bonus ammo chest and boots. I presume that the reason they're stacking is that the boots are technically "bonus ROCKET ammo," while the chest is "bonus HEAVY ammo" -- not identical.
The only way it makes sense for the chest and boots to work like they do is if the bonus ammo in either or both cases is a percentage boost and the system is rounding. Let's say the boots are +20% rocket ammo. 2 x 20% = .4 rockets, so it is rounding down to the base 2. However, 3 x 20% = .6 rockets, so I get the bonus. Not sure what numbers would make the chest give you +1 rocket by itself and +2 if with the boots.
Anyone know the specific math or system for the bonus ammo armor??

Different rockets have different reserve ammo capacities. I think suros ones carry less. Not sure tho
