There's no arguing everyone wants 320 drops and people who only care about the rewards i understand you will say its worth it, but for people who have ran the raid 3 times every week you will be at least 315 and the raid is not very challenging and do not need a higher light level to become more capable of completing the raid because they have adequate gear already.
Firstly the excitement of 320s should have been satisfied in hard mode with some form of smart loot. In the last 2 weeks iive received nothing of any worth. If you have a 315 chest piece you should not get lower than 315 on that character. The lack of 320 drops from the regular hard mode raid is the only reason challenge mode is somewhat relevant.
This weeks challenge (the first week) is Warpriest and is nearly no change for most groups, some groups even 1 cycle the encounter, and its not a challenge even to the definition of the word. I understand that most of the player base consists of casual players but will Bungie ever make an encounter for the hardcore players?
Challenge mode should give you rewards you cant get in hard mode. 320 drops aren't anything extra they've always been there you get have a 1/11 chance of your drop being 320 which are pretty crappy odds.
As someone who no longer cares for the rewards available in the raid all i hoped for from challenge node was a difficult encounter aimed at hardcore players. I also would like Bungie to come out and tell us if theses "challenges" will continue in this way or if Warpriest is just a starter challenge and as we get the Golgorth and Oryx challenge the hardcore players will finally get the attention from the developers. Also, is there just one challenge per boss or will the challenge on that specific boss change? Bungie need to give some information on challenge mode ( yes i understand they want to keep some things secret but a teaser to make us actually excited wouldn't go amiss)
If you agree or disagree with me comment below why, I want to see how other people feel about this.
Note: I'm very tired as of writing this so if it doesn't make sense in some parts just tell me and ill fix it.
NOTE: I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE 320 ARTIFACT. Some people in the comments clearly not realising this. I also dont care for gear i can get from the regular hard mode raid. The double rng in the raid is a separate issue altogether.

B***** it

I think Bungie is doing it right and catering to the masses. Since they are aligned with Blizzard, they can learn for the mistake they made with WoW. The increasing difficultly wow constantly brought on on new raids deterred new players They people who play all day are an extremely small minority, and they know that. It's just smart business. If one or two You Tubers disagree, well that's just a drop In the bucket.

Did it first time and got 320 quilims terminus and 320 artifact
-
Challenge mode could switch it's modifiers each week like the prison of elders did.
-
It is worth it

Edited by PikaX: 12/3/2015 5:52:01 PMIf you don't care about the loot, then I don't know why you're playing this game... This game is literally ALL about the loot and rewards (as non-existent as they are...). This game isn't a challenge at all for anyone who's used a controller at some point in their life (and can use their hands in coordination with their eyes...), so, If that's all you're worried about, go play a different game. In summary, DON'T BUY THIS GAME'S FUTURE "CONTENT" FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. RUN, CHILD. GET AWAY, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE ;n; Edit: I'm also not agreeing with bongee for designing the ENTIRE GAME'S LOOT SYSTEM like this; I hate it too... I'm just saying how it is.

The 320 relic was an award you can't get elsewhere so yes challenge mode is absolutely worth it. The challenge this week was way too easy, and the hinted at not using one orb strat on Golgoroth potentially being next weeks I don't feel like we will be challenged right away. With challenge mode having its own unique reward system, they have an opportunity to ramp it up next time around and I hope they do
-
I actually haven't had a chance to the new mode yet but if it like what you say and not actually a difficult thing that's gonna suck. It would be nice if they rewarded the hardcore players every once in a while. But I'm gonna give the new mode a try tonight.
-
Did the challenge last night with only 2 ppl that was over 310 and the other 4 was not even close to 309. 1 was at 300. Took a hour to do cause we had 5 warlocks and 1 titan. But 2 of then went to get hunter's and finally beat it. In all they where happy to get the hard mode challenge rewards.
-
U have to remember these challenges don't cater to your hard core desticle... They're meant for players who are average. All the you tubers fails to recognize that there are a ton of guardians out there who are afraid to grab the auroa (think vog relic days) I don't agree with it but it is what it is.

Bullshit.
-
Challenge mode is great. It also proves that they can implement a specific item drop into a certain event. Now if the raid gear drops can work like this it would be amazing.
-
Hardcore players are the minority so no.
-
Worth it because 320 drops. People shouldn't complain about that.
-
It's very easy. Run it for rewards
-
Edited by quadracer786: 12/2/2015 3:47:18 PMIts worth doing for the 320s but its not a challenge whatsoever. Hopefully golgoroth and oryx are harder
-
If you don't like the challenge mode just don't do it. I don't see any reason to be angry over a free update.
-
The 320 artifact and calcified fragment aren't in normal mode. And I think challenge mode was more of a help for players with crappy RNG than an actual challenge for a solid raid team. A 315 bud of mine got his first machine gun last night and might not have played another week if he didn't get it. Not everyone has everything like the best raid teams do and even some of them needed this.

Edited by GotSomeFire: 12/2/2015 3:38:01 PMThe rewards are great, not really useful for anything other than bragging rights since most everyone is 310+ as it is, but I think challenge mode should make the hard raid, harder. They tease us for over a month about the next big challenge coming to the destiny universe and then most people don't even notice the difference that challenge mode made. That's not challenge mode, that's "extra rewards" mode. Edit: when I say most everyone and everyone, I'm not including the people who don't play the game regularly. Challenge mode should be geared towards the players that care maybe a little too much about the game, in my opinion.

That was easy. It was just like doing it the regular way. Here's what I would have done different. 1. No Hive. All taken. Makes the rounds a little harder with taken out. Add in a few wizards as well. 2. Shorten the aura. Either each timer is shorter or take away 1 timer from the aura. 3. Captains They aren't in the entire raid. For the second round and on throw them in as soon as he throws a captain punch. Does that sound harder?
-
Bungie doesn't need to do anything. You are owed no explanation of any current or future content/updates. I honestly don't understand this generation of kids that think they deserve everything because they want it
-
Dude. This first challenge is super easy and it is well worth the rewards. I got a*320 artifact a 310 artifact, 320 harrowed elysium launcher, 310 Defiance and a 320 harrowed defiance. I got 5 great -blam!-ing drops for this *one* challenge and it's well worth it. And I still have the whole rest of the raid to do.
-
Let's hope the next two are -blam!-ing hard as -blam!-.
-
To all the people who bitch that challenge mode is too easy, what would you have done differently?
-
I can't tell you how many times I've run the boss fights and receive nothing but shards. A guarantee 320 drop is definately worth it.
-
Smh everyone who's complaining about the shit being too easy are gonna be the same people who rage quit on orxy just wait and see lol
