We should be able to test our mettle against fellow guardians in single combat.
Let's say, for example, you inspect somebody and when you do the option to challenge them will pop up somewhere. Once you issue a challenge, the recipient can either decide to accept or abstain from participating. If a challenge is accepted, the two duelist will duel and the guardian who wins the best 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5, etc. will be crowned victorious.
If you run into someone in the wilds you could also issue a challenge. The duel will take place in the wilds and any passing guardians will be able to stop and watch the display but without being able to interefere physically. I imagine lines of Guardians stepping up and dueling sword against sword to test who is best with a blade while rows of spectators, who happened to stumble by, cheer in admiration.
The meer thought of something so spontaneous and fun makes me guiddy with exitement, especially because as it stands now, we have no 1v1 equivalent. Team battles and strikes are fun and all but I think a great many people would appreciate the existence of a 1v1 option, even if it's just a simple match type that's not ranked and gives no reward. If there is no xp, rank, reputation, reward or overall stakes outside of glory for the victor than there would be no danger of people exploiting this feature.
Imagine a classic Wild West style showdown between two Last Word toting gunslingers at sundown on Mars that ends in both Hunters popping out a last ditch Sungun blast.
I think Lord Saladin would approve.

Just one for thing for the nerf herders to cry about. So, no.
