Ah yeah Shotties in the real world fire pretty far especially with Slug rounds. The problem is that Destiny has no Fall-off damage for Shotties, they either kill you in oneshot or do little to no damage at all and so instead of Bungie nerfing the High Impact shotties that can potentially oneshot people, they'll pretty much brutalize them and people'll most likely be hardscoping with high Aim Assist sniper rifles. :/
