This topic originally was an experiment to prove you don't need anything to raid with a friendly group of people. Other than a LFG topic or post specific to your wants and a little initiative. It was an undeniable success - posing as a new player without any raid experience and lousy gear I got four friend requests within five minutes. Many more afterwards plus all the posts in this topic.
Players seem to be using it now as a way to do their first raid in an encouraging, non-intimidating atmosphere. As someone with anxiety that once struggled with the idea of raiding I understand how tough that first step can be. I would consider it an incredible honor if new raiders use this topic to connect with seasoned ones, if it's the place where real and lasting friendships are made.
Share your triumphs and failures as a group that can laugh off mistakes. This game in general is fun even played solo; the people you play it with are what make it amazing.
Now PS4 as well - what I play on. PSN: gem_ixx

Look I made this post to help somebody from a forum and at the same time prove that anybody can do the raid in a chill environment without worrying about neckbeard elitists or making mistakes. Effortlessly, just by posting a LFG and being upfront. The claim was they never have the chance to raid because barely anyone plays ps3 (i'm ps4) and nobody would take someone with poor gear and no experience. The topic in general involved people steadfastly refusing to raid, ever, because they don't want to play with (in a nutshell) people who would scream and rage and insult them and that the majority of players are/might be bratty kids or douchebags on the troll prowl. And/or it takes too much time or effort to find a team. Because I didn't know their PSN I linked this conversation to the topic and posed as a new ps3 player with mediocre gear and no raid experience at all and implied mild social anxiety and a clear desire to raid only with people that would be patient with inexperience. I recieved four friend requests within five minutes, a few more until I gave the false one and the replies in this topic from all you decent players. I was going to forward all the replies to him but it turned out he'd just been trolling and had been whining for weeks about the impossibility of being in a raid. He didn't return. Neither did anyone else from the 'lfg is too much work and everyone is mean' side of the discussion. tl;dr I'm a phony, this was just to prove a point, that anyone can raid as comfortably as they ask for, the destiny community is very friendly and it's mere minutes between wanting to raid and being in one. And everyone on discussion forums you disagree with are trolling you and you shouldn't bother elaborately showing them their preconceived misconceptions are baseless because you'll just end up killing a topic. You guys are great, though. Keep on being friendly and helpful.
