Look, he is new to the military (well, not yet). Right now, yes, he may want the attention. He's excited. I know I was. I didn't go onto some forums and make posts about it, lol, but I told all my friends and family. All I wanted was, "we are so proud of you... Thank you!" Now, with being in for only 4 years now, I don't look for thank yous and I'm proud of yous. That's when you become SELF SERVING and not serving to serve. Give him some time. He will learn. Maybe the next post he makes will be completely opposite. Now, please understand, this reply isn't to start shit. I am only replying in hope to relieve some tension. I will say though, it is NEVER smart for someone in the military to make posts similar to this. Have a good day, bud.
