what's up Exceptionals!!
It's Halfling here to fill you in with the new updates and news topics around Destiny and The Exceptionals Community, and there has been happening a lot past week.
From Lord Saladin who has packed his bags again to a new weapon tuning update planned for December and a brand new quest line with new rewards to obtain if you recruit a friend to the Destiny world.
So for this week we are going to cover:
* King's Fall: Challenge Mode announced
* This weeks Xür's shop Inventory and location
* Weapon tuning December Update
* New Y1 Exotics added to the Y2 collection
* Iron Banner review
* New "A Tale of Two guardians" quest line
* This weeks Trials of Osiris
* King's Fall: Challenge Mode
Earlier this week Bungie confirmed that for the guardians who are seeking a little more challenge in the King's Fall raid they are going to provide exactly that hehe
According to Bungie they will start with the brand new Challenge Mode early December and it will give you a certain Boss objective next to beating the raid, this objective will be on a different boss each week and you can find the objective which will appear as a skull modifier on the raid mission just like the skulls at the Night Fall missions.
For some bosses it will probably totally change the way you beat it before, and it will actually force you to a new approach to get past it and get the task done.
* Xür and his location:
This week Xür can be located at the Vanguard room, where you also can find your weapon and armor kiosks.
Here is what Xür is offering this week:
HELM OF SAINT-14 (Titan helmet) for 13 Strange Coins
CREST OF ALPHA LUPI (Hunter chest) for 13 Strange Coins
LIGHT BEYOND NEMESIS (Warlock helmet) for 13 Strange Coins
THE 4th HORSEMAN (Shotgun) for 23 Strange Coins
LEGACY ENGRAM (Y1 Special Weapon Engram) for 31 Strange Coins
Off course Xür also offers the usual as he always has like the Three of Coins, Glass Needles, Heavy Ammo Synth, etc.
* Weapon Tuning-December Update:
This update is probably the most discussed topic of past week and I am pretty sure everyone has heard at least something about it. After testing Weapon Update 2.0 for a while Bungie and most of all the Destiny community were still not satisfied about the weapon balance and the limitation it gave in weapons to use in crucible because some weapon types just over-ruled all others. Here at www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Weapon-Tuning--December-Update/en/News/News?aid=14016 you can find all the ins and outs that hold the December update. Roll up your sleeves guardians because this is going to be a real shocker to some weapon class builds.
* Exotic-'O-RaExoticsma:
Within the December update Bungie will also add some new obtainable goodies to the Year 2 Exotic collection. They will add two new Year 2 exclusive Exotic pieces and a bunch more of Year 1 Weapons and Armors which some also with (improved) new perks. It would probably be wise to save those Three of Coins until the December Update to improve the odds to find one of the two new Exotics or to find one of your former beloved Exotics like the Mida-Multi Tool to name one.
*Iron Banner review:
"So our first Clash-type Iron Banner has come to an end and what an experience that was!! Personally I had a love-hate opinion with it. It was fun to play play a different kind of game mode in IB and I did enjoy Clash but for example the spawns... they were just terrible, the times I got spawned right in front of two or three opposite guardians. I know this can be stimulated if the opposite team has good map control and are pushing the spawns but it did annoy me for a bit hehe".

Overall it was a good Iron Banner with decent rewards. A lot of guardians entered IB with a wide variety of light levels, but it was pretty clear that your light level did matter especially because it was a non objective game mode and the shear kills counted. Bungie posted a graphic with a comparison of all player average scored k/d to their light levels and it was pretty obvious that it makes a big difference in k/d when players where at a higher light level.
With above gathered information (and the graphic) it seems that with a 303 or greater Light you will have the best odds of going positive. So gear up Exceptionals and get that light level up and running, you got a month to prep for the next Iron Banner because Bungie announced it will return in December.
* "A Tale of Two guardians" quest line:
Started from November 23rd we have a new available quest line which involves helping out fresh guardians who seek for guidance and experience.
BUNGIE: "The Holiday season is rolling in like a cold-weather front. With it, many Kinderguardians will join us in the Tower to find shelter from the cold of winter – and, just maybe, the friendship needed to survive a Quest. Take one under your mighty wing of Light and we’ll reward your mentorship".
You will probably think, yeah thanks Bungie... I already played Destiny for ages and there is no one I know who is getting a new copy of Destiny so there is no way I can enjoy this new quest line... Well don't loose hope lol because even as a Veteran guardian you will have a fair shot of getting this one done. Inform to the FAQ to find out what you will have to do and what the requirements are to start the quest line and how to link your account to your new found friends. As you have read (if you followed above link) there is a separate made tab at Bungie.net where it will be available to post a thread to find new players but there you can also find new players who have posted a "call for help" so I guess as long as people are buying Destiny we have a good chance of completing this quest and collect a couple new and exclusive rewards.
