The first one isn't a big deal but for Marines it's oorah. Second, Marines aren't soldiers. You never call a Marine a soldier. Also you wouldn't call OP a Marine because he hasn't yet earned the title. Soon he'll be a recruit/pvt. Or his DI will probably call him something along the lines of maggot.
