What needs more skill in PVP!? Sniper or Shotgun?
Just curious to see what majority of the forum users believe takes more skill. I am not talking about any other game, so please don't compare to anything else (BO3, Halo, etc)
Feel free to express your opinion why sniping/shotgun take more skill.
Happy trials folks!
**Btw if yall could bump or like the post so more people get to see it* would be greatly appreciated!**
snipers all day
Edit: Thanks for everyone's input! As many have said it really takes no skill for either weapon if your are just camping a lane/door**

With a shotgun you have to know how to close the gap because even with "sniper" shotguns the range isn't that far for a 1HK. But if you just blink it take no skill. Snipers you aim for the head or double tap the body, if you get head shots it's skill, if not you use a sniper like a op scout and takes no skill.
-
fusion rifles take skill, much harder to use than either
-
Well you need to practice rushing without dying As well as setting up and strafing with a sniper I'd say both take skill but in their own ways
-
Destiny PvP takes skill? Lol wut...

Edited by TheOneRaven: 11/28/2015 6:29:40 AMSnipers ADS should drop upon taking dmg...
-
thing with shotguns is that you can be gunning them down and they'll be like "i dont want to engage a primary fight i want easy kills" and they'll bum rush you with a shotty out and barely kill you. some people consider that skill.
-
They each take a different set of skills to use but I gotta go with sniping being a bit harder...unless you're spamming body shots with Spraydyth's...then it becomes easier than shotgunning.
-
Both take equal skill as the weapon itself is only one variable. Positioning map awareness and reading ur radar are all keys to making said weapon as effective as possible. # l hate nerfs

Now a days it takes more skill to use fusion rifles. Having to get the right distance so cone spread doesn't fuck you over and timing the charges so you dont get shotgun blasted mid charge. Also needing to track enemy movement

Edited by TheCroatoan: 11/27/2015 11:37:36 PMShotguns don't really require skill •You see an enemy that's somewhat close •point and shoot •not dead? Shoot again •rinse and repeat Snipers are more difficult I feel like I need pinpoint accuracy to kill someone. Not to mention that you flinch like a bitch in this game.

Lol is this a fuking joke
-
No skill needed, born with greatness
-
62% feel the need to defend their crutch. How pathetic.
-
nlb sidearm takes the most skill
-
Sniper all day. At least when special ammo runs dry snipers typically still have gun skill.
-
Fusion Rifles and Sidearms take more skill than both, that's all that matters.
-
Sniper - thumb skill Shotgun - positioning skill Play ToO. People aren't blink shotgun-ing everywhere as opposed to 6v6 modes. It takes skill/smarts to rush in/flank with a shotgun and engage the opposing team. It also takes balls.
-
I feel like they both take their own skill sets Shotguns Evasiveness Reaction time Closing gaps quickly Snipers Awareness Tactical positioning(this does not mean camping) Straight up aim
-
no skill needed in destiny
Yep lol
-
Obviously fusion rifles.

Depends on the sniper. In 95% of scenarios if vote that shotguns take less skill, but after suffering the likes of Her Benevolence with hidden hand, there are certainly outliers.

Both take the same amount of skill and here's why: Spacing The key to being a great sniper as well as being an effective shotgun user is knowing how to position yourself. With shotguns, you have to use a run and gun play style that involves either flanking or swiftly closing the distance between yourself and your target. THEN you have to know the exact ranges where if you pull the trigger, you can guarantee a kill. Here's the reason why everyone views this is lacking skill: no one likes being blown away with a shotgun. It's just frustrating. Then with sniping, you have to use a relaxed, yet quick play style that involves finding certain lanes and spots where a large volume of players will be. Specifically, where they will be unsuspecting. THEN you must know where that players head is going to be so that you can, like shotguns, guarantee a kill. The advantages of snipers though is that you can get off follow up shots before you're compromised. Why do people think it lacks skill? Aim assist and target acquisition. It's not really fair to have the game grant assistance when using what is considered to be a precise method of play.

Both take about the same amount of skill and that's 0. People need to git gud and start using their primaries.
-
Shogun =complete trash and most likely an illiterate fatty
-
Who in there right mind would say shotgun... point and shoot and point blank = no skill, but still effective sadly
