What needs more skill in PVP!? Sniper or Shotgun?
Just curious to see what majority of the forum users believe takes more skill. I am not talking about any other game, so please don't compare to anything else (BO3, Halo, etc)
Feel free to express your opinion why sniping/shotgun take more skill.
Happy trials folks!
**Btw if yall could bump or like the post so more people get to see it* would be greatly appreciated!**
snipers all day
Edit: Thanks for everyone's input! As many have said it really takes no skill for either weapon if your are just camping a lane/door**

Edited by sicklecell419: 11/28/2015 11:57:58 AMAnomoly is filled with the tears of dirty diaper, 1000yd stare starter kit, hardscoping snipers. Most have so much trouble when they can't hard scope a 4 inch gap on their screen. After my first flawless card which took 45 minutes I went and did this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBzetkXqnqs

How can this even be a question? lol

Edited by Jeff the Cabal: 11/28/2015 4:20:30 PMSnipers: Awareness Steady aim Quick thinking Good tactical calculations Shotguns: very good Awareness Quick thinking Good timing Smart movement Fusion rifles: very good aim very good timing Smart movement Quick thinking Good predicting Quick at dodging I personally think it goes: 3rd. Shotgun 2nd. Fusion rifles 1st. Snipers It should be flipped with the sniper and fusion rifle at this current moment (fusion rifles are pretty hard to use) but given that this is a biased opinion and I find sniping harder.

3. Queenbreakers Bow

I sucks at sniping 😩 I'm really good at shotgun I guess I have no skill
-
The both do require some skill, but not a whole lot. Just enough to tell the difference between a skilled player and unskilled... just barely. Fusion Rifles take the most skill of all the secondary weapons. You miss, you die. Even a partial hit generally results in death. You can't really rush with it. You can't stay way back and peek around a corner. You actually have to "dance", and have excellent timing and prediction ability. Just reaction time alone won't save ur ass, and that is why fusions take the most skill to use effectively as they are now. Hence why you don't see hardly any in crucible. When i die by a fusion rifle, i legitimately respect the player since it takes excellent battle awareness and "skill" to use effectively. No one can refute this without looking like a moron.

Fusion rifles take the most skill. You miss a single beam in your burst you're gonna die. You anticipate a guardian around the corner and but your charge isn't ready you die. Fusion rifles take the most skill. Side Arms, snipers and then Shotguns in that order.

Snipers: Tactical awareness Accuracy Reaction time Map knowledge Shotguns: Movement skill Map knowledge Reaction time Tactical awareness Very similar skills but used in different ways during combat. Some people would say shotguns take no skill since they have way too much range (which I agree to an extent, I think all they need to do to balance shotguns is get rid of the high impact high range archetype *cough cough felwinters*) but they still require skill to close with the target and not mutual with them. Some people will say snipers have way too much aim assist, and I can agree to that to a degree, because I don't like snipers that stick to a target. Aim assist however does not help sniping, it doesn't pull the bullet to the targets head, it just keeps the reticle on the target a few moments longer. Really what people should complain about is how lag affects what the game registers as a shot landing in the targets hit box But none of that is the problem The problem is Bungie decided everyone should spawn with power weapons and have plentiful ammo for them. In almost every other shooter, power weapons are fought over on the map, like how heavy ammo is now, or for getting kill streaks. If Bungie had one or two boxes of heavy and special spawn close to the middle of the map during crucible matches, with people being warned about them long before they arrive, and at the beginning of the match, and not allow almost the whole team to pick it up at the same time, it would be much less of a problem. They would be power weapons like they are supposed to be, somewhat rare and strong

Snipers don't take much skill in this game. They still take more than shotguns though.
-
Nothing really takes skill in Destiny.
-
It's amazing that people haven't figured it out yet Shotguns are easy to use but present the most risk to the user Snipers are hard to use but present the least risk to the user How's that not -blam!-ing balanced?
-
I know most people will probably say I have no right to comment with a .9 kdr but with that being said I figured I'd share my opinion on the matter anyways. Snipers require some form of skill in aiming for the head but when I used them they were ridiculously easy to avoid deaths with and to get headshots although taking some degree of skill it does not seem to require a large amount of skill to do so. Shotguns on the other hand require that someone is close and there is a lot more of a risk/reward endeavor in this case. YOu have to be very close to your target (especially after the two consecutive nerfs and very fast approaching 3rd nerf) and you have to have a good sense of where your target will be and who else could attack you. My .02$

Edited by kyuss534: 11/28/2015 2:34:28 PMShotguns will take skill when the next nerf slaps them worse than fusion rifles are now. I just wish they'd bring back the universal remote.
-
Is this a serious question, no offence but shotguns are the easy button of Destiny, they should have never made it into the game, least of all at the power they have, they are ridiculously easy, skilless guns to use. Snipers on the other hand you have to actually aim the gun and not shoot in a general direction and get an easy kill, sniping takes skill shotguns do not.
-
Fusion rifle tbh
-
Snipers need most skill. I suck with snipers so I use shotgun
-
Sidearms take the most skill.
kappa
-
And now I see why regardless of how many times shotguns are needed they get nerfed again.
-
Majority Players of Destiny probably can't SNIPE Battlefield 4
-
Why did all you idiots vote snipers? The 100 yard stare takes no skill at all, aim assist just locks on to the target
-
Am I the only one who believes shotguns need skill? Lol
-
With a shotgun you have to know how to close the gap because even with "sniper" shotguns the range isn't that far for a 1HK. But if you just blink it take no skill. Snipers you aim for the head or double tap the body, if you get head shots it's skill, if not you use a sniper like a op scout and takes no skill.
