What needs more skill in PVP!? Sniper or Shotgun?
Just curious to see what majority of the forum users believe takes more skill. I am not talking about any other game, so please don't compare to anything else (BO3, Halo, etc)
Feel free to express your opinion why sniping/shotgun take more skill.
Happy trials folks!
**Btw if yall could bump or like the post so more people get to see it* would be greatly appreciated!**
snipers all day
Edit: Thanks for everyone's input! As many have said it really takes no skill for either weapon if your are just camping a lane/door**

I believe both weapons are equal honestly. That's coming from a shot gunner who sucks at sniping. How ironic. I originally sucked with shottys and only really succeeded with them after getting Invective and a perfectly rolled HOW dry rot 32. I now wreck with my invective and last extremity. My reflexes have to be pinpoint accurate to land a clean kill. My only complaint with snipers is the lack of any substantial aim deflection after taking fire. Last Extremity has max impact for SRs and still I get headshotted after unloading 5 bullets into the sniper.

I think both take some skill, shotguns need some quick reflexes and know when to attack so they don't get gunned down mid rush Snipers however put everything on the line to one shot, banking on that being a headshot. So I feel it takes more skill to land that one precision headshot in the line of fire then a shotgun
-
My only problem with snipers is that the aim deflection after taking fire needs to be significantly increased. Its not fair that I can locate and fire at a sniper repeatedly only to be headshotted. It would reward both snipers know how to hide AND players skilled enough to effectively engage them

Shotguns now take more. In my opinion. And I snipe.

Edited by Sarogat: 11/29/2015 2:03:41 AMSnipers: The weapon aims for you ADS stability on par with shooting a weapon while prone with a tripod. Accurate under fire. Shotgun: Requires you to be close enough to spit on your opponent to kill. Requires a tactical mindset combining the elements of cover & maneuver to close within kill range without getting gunned down. Tl;dr To be successful with a sniper you need average reaction time for the trigger pull (That's it!). To be successful with a shotgun you need situational awareness, good use of cover, and some balls. Edit: Sorry for stealing all your comments OP!! Edit 2: The salt is strong Edit 3: Had fun pooping on you 1000 yard stare punks yesterday on Anomaly & will resume washing my rear with your tears in a few hours. Edit 4: Slapped on a sniper Tao Hua Yuan (Wildhawk SLS20/Aim Assist 11?), performed .65 k/d better than average. http://destinytracker.com/destiny/games/1/4611686018433497463/2305843009244039537/4268146588?page=0 1.5 above average http://destinytracker.com/destiny/games/1/4611686018433497463/2305843009244039537/4268291609?page=0 Its so hard!!!! http://destinytracker.com/destiny/games/1/4611686018433497463/2305843009244039537/4268361352?page=0 Playing like a sniper is rough http://destinytracker.com/destiny/games/1/4611686018433497463/2305843009244039537/4268422588?page=0 I just don't get it, shouldn't be this easy http://destinytracker.com/destiny/games/1/4611686018433497463/2305843009244039537/4268606735?page=0
But its not easy sitting out of primary range /Sarcasm
Surely I'm just some shotgun scrub that has no idea what he's talking about...

If I played Destiny with keyboard/mouse, I'd go for sniper rifles, but I hate aiming on consoles, especially with aim assist. It's so irritating, that I have no fun in sniping.

Edited by Ohhh54321: 12/2/2015 11:22:53 PMEven with aim assist it still takes skill to aim at the head
-
Depends on the sniper. For those saying that they are good with 1000 yard stare, that weapon can have a 71 Stat of auto aim. Try some skill with icebreaker or hereafter, then that is skill
-
Why is this even being questioned?
-
Always impressive when I get my head ripped off by someone quick scoping. Gg
-
Fusion rifles.....
-
What about fusion rifles and sidearms
-
This poll clearly indicates that all lot of people on the forums are not educated how the game really works and its basic mechanics. Those that do take advantage of it, greatly, and that is a aim assist. The mini sniper YouTube videos of Destiny clearly indicates this. I'm sorry, this does not equal skill even though most you believe that but this game there is no skill just aim and shoot

Just defender in pvp lately. I like challenging myself in pvp lately. And its either bubble or hammers for pvp, what ever i feel like atm.
-
Depends on what you mean. It takes less skill to be successful with a shotty than a sniper. But it's easier to get good kd and dominate with a sniper since shotty puts you right up in harms way
-
I know its not an option but fusion rifles
-
How about we all stop bickering, and switch to the Fusion Rifle master race?
-
Depends on the shotgun. The chaperone is a gun that never one shots the body. But for the most part, snipers
-
Well if you're using the 1000-Yard Stare then no skill at all
-
Fusion Rifles. They don't have Shortgaze and they aren't Her Benevolence.
-
Fusion rifles
-
Fusion rifles [ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°].
-
Both are OHK weapons in most instances. So I choose the option, NEITHER requires much skill. Each require a specific type of game play, that is all.
-
Shotguns: Easy to use but with a high risk. Snipers: Harder to use than shotguns but with less risk.
-
There are good snipers that headshot you out of mid air and there is the crap snipers (90%) guardians who just preaimed doorways to get headshots.
