Hey everyone, I was wondering what the new damages for the weapons would be after the December patch, so I decided to calculate them. These aren't exact, but they are pretty close. Hope you enjoy and any feedback is appreciated! :)
Auto Rifles
3% damage increase
Original Low RoF Body Damage: 20
Original Precision Damage: 25
New Body Damage: 20 * 0.03 = 0.6 + 20 = 20.6 = 21 (round up)
New Precision Damage: 25 * 0.03 = 0.75 + 25 = 25.75 = 26 (round up)
7% damage increase
Original Medium RoF Body Damage: 16
Original Precision: 20
New Body Damage: 16 * 0.07 = 1.12 + 16 = 17.12 = 17 (round down)
New Precision Damage: 20 * 0.07 = 1.4 = 20 = 21.4 = 21 (round down)
4% damage increase
Original High RoF Body Damage: 13
Original Precision Damage: 16
New Body Damage: 13 * 0.04 = 0.52 + 13 = 13.52 = 14 (round up)
New Precision Damage: 16 * 0.04 = 0.64 + 16 = 16.64 = 17 (round up)
Pulse Rifles
9% damage reduction
Original Low RoF Body Damage: 26
Original Precision Damage: 38
New Body Damage: 26 * 0.09 = 26 - 2.34 = 23.66 = 24 (round up)
New Precision Damage: 38 * 0.09 = 38 - 3.42 = 34.58 = 35 (round up)
8% damage reduction
Original Medium RoF Body Damage: 18
Original Precision Damage: 27
New Body Damage: 18 * 0.08 = 18 - 1.44 = 16.56 = 17 (round up)
New Precision Damage: 27 * 0.08 = 27 - 2.16 = 24.84 = 25 (round up)
2% damage reduction
Original High RoF Body Damage: 16
Original Precision Damage: 24
New Body Damage: 16 * 0.02 = 16 - 0.32 = 15.68 = 15 (went down because that's the closest decrease)
New Precision Damage: 24 * 0.02 = 24 - 0.48 = 23.52 = 23 (went down because that's the closest decrease)
Chaperone
Precision damage scalar for this weapon is being increased to 1.75 from 1.1
Original Body Damage: 183
Original Precision Damage: 201
New Precision Damage: 183 * 1.75 = 320 (Not exact because base damage is being decreased.)
After seeing these new changes to damage, I predict that Auto Rifles will rise to the spot of being able to compete with Pulse Rifles. Since Pulses are getting nerfed and Autos buffed, I'm excited to try new ARs. Especially the Doctrine of Passing. It's already decent, and now it is getting a buff by 1 damage, it'll be a beast! Thanks for reading everyone. Post thoughts of what you think will rise in December!

Zhalo will be king... Already a very good auto even at a decent distance. I guess we'll see about the range but close to medium it should wreck. Plus I swear those arc projectiles make your crosshairs jump all over... Maybe it's only if someone is close enough to cause the chain lightning but to me it seems like every time I come up against one it's like high caliber rounds.

Your math is sound. (despite the representation being inaccurate - you can't say 20*0.03=0.6+20... but we get what you were going for) I will however argue that you shouldn't be so quick to round. I believe destiny deals with fractions of a HP. We only see the whole numbers but fractions seem to exist. Try out Weapons of Light on a lower hitting weapon. You will see an extra damage point in the right situation. This is because of the lack of rounding. I saw a video a while back proving it but unfortunately I cannot find it. But you are right, those are the numbers we will see when we use these guns. (Let's just dust off this Necrochasm here...)

Bump.

Thanks for that. Puts it more in perspective seeing the actual damage values. Made me think I was possibly overreacting to the Pulse nerf.

Ran the numbers myself. Everything seems to check out. This is spooky; an accurate post on the forums.

Edited by WatchDoge: 11/27/2015 2:41:47 AMThis is correct. I did the math myself. Auto rifles will do more damage up close but it will fall off at range, so it wont be doing its max damage all the time. Hopefully Pulse Rifles will stay effective in its intended situations. Im worried about the Hakke Pulse Rifles because they will be weaker each shot.

On paper these buffs and nerfs look great but let's see how well they'll do in actual gameplay
-
Nice job, they are reducing Chaperone's base damage as well, so that part might not be accurate.
-
Spread it! Spread this everywhere! Let the masters of hyperbole know how much they -blam!- up!

20*.03=.6, not .06
