Breaking Benjamin frontman Benjamin Burnley is again talking about how much he hates Star Wars Battlefront. In case you missed it, he recently destroyed a copy of the "piece of sh*t" game after he was asked to talk positively about it on his social media channels.
Recap of events:
EA asked Burnley to talk positively about Battlefront and offered compensation. After playing Battlefront, he snapped the disc and called it "shit".
As to why he thinks this way:
poor spawn placement, overpowered weapons, a lack of a rewards system, bad hit-detection, and Hero/Villain gameplay that is no fun.
"It's just not fun," he says about the overall Battlefront experience.
Discussion:
Before I address his actual complaints, I'm going to discredit his opinion a bit because it seems like he says the game is bad because he's bad at the game. Before you proclaim me a fanboy, please consider the previous statement:
"All online games suck in their own kind of way...."
What I pull from this comment is that he is a primarily a PvE oriented player and thus doesn't enjoy or is experienced in PvP oriented games, thus is experience was hindered, which is why I don't take stock in his opinion.
Now as for his comments, he's right. The spawns are piss poor. I often spawn into bad situations, being killed immediately or having to fight for my life.
Additionally, yes, the DL-44 (I think it's called), is overpowered. But it's not so overpowered, that it ruins the experience, simply a minor annoyance that should be fixed.
His comments about the Heros, in my opinion, is wrong. Both in looks, feel and gameplay, each Hero feels distinct and like their real life counterpart.
The hit detection is again, wrong. I've encountered no such problems when firing or being shot at. The travel time makes hit detection more accurate.
Conclusion
Ultimately, I think this was a gaudy, unprofessional, and childish stunt. However, he does make a few (two) good points in the problems of STWBF. Personally, I think there is one underlying problem with the game.
Lack of content
What about you? What do you think about Star Wars Battlefront? Do you agree more with me or Burnley?
Edit1:
For people saying that EA is wrong for this actions, I'm not disagreeing with you, but I will direct your attention to Ludacris and Black Ops 3...as seen here.

However, Luda just took the money and ran instead of snapping the disc and pointing out the (many) errors in the game. My point is, that this isn't an action exclusive to EA, most companies do this.

I'm a sack of shit
-
My only problem is the lack of content...seems to be a theme going on this generation
-
>guy talks shit about EA's game >EA wants to pay him to baby their game >guy shits on it even more If it was from a good publisher, I might care. This is hilarious, however. I'd be worried about Disney coming after me, if I were him though.

A crying opinion from a band that makes crying music. Didnt see that coming
-
Breaking Benjamin sucks. Battlefront is better then Breaking Benjamin. Baking Bread is more fun the Battlefront. Breaking Benjamin < Battlefront < Baking Bread
-
*prior to reading* Why would some musicians opinion matter? Ah Breaking Benjamin, makes sense considering they made "Blow me Away" for Halo 2 (amazing song). Didn't know any of this was going on. Makes me wonder why they think of the Halo franchise now (trash).

Breaking Benjamin frontman Benjamin Burnley is again talking about how much he hates Star Wars Battlefront. I hate when gaming companies/developers treat us like we are stupid.

Haven't played it yet but from what I hear, it's like the originals but with better graphics, better sound and about an eighth of the content
-
Kinda like how I feel about his music. And his opinions.
-
Who on earth is he?

This game is sad. It has the tools to be great...but it's just lacking. The only cool thing about this game is the Tie Fighter/X-Wings. But why can't we fly Tie Bombers? B-Wings? Y-Wings? If they make an expansion specifically for space/air battles I'm all in. They won't though. The graphics and visuals 10/10. Creativity 3/10. Level design 4/10. Overall 6/10.
-
I haven't bought the game yet but I had fun with the beta. It was awesome. But I have to say a 50 dollar DLC is not worth it. The DLC should all be put in the game. Talk about Destiny expansions being overpriced.
-
It is pretty bad.

>I don't agree with Musician so i'll discredit every point he made because im always right. Literally all i got from this thread tbh fam P.S.: It's just his opinion, not objective facts
-
He's rebel scum.
-
I respect his opinion, even though it's WRONG
-
Good for him, to not let money overshadow his beliefs.
-
E.A. caught again trying to pay someone off for a positive review. I question the credibility of every site that scored this an 8 or more, considering how much content SWBF has on release.
-
He's not obligated to be fair, professional or adult in his opinion. He's not a professional journalist or game reviewer as far as I know.
-
He will not bow
LOL
-
Not worth $60
-
It's just disappointing that it's about 1/5 of what the originals were and 1/10 the fun of the originals.
-
There's already a better version of it out, it's called battlefront 2
-
Benjamin would be a nerf crier if he played Destiny
-
SW: Battlefront is meant to be the game you come home to after a stressful game to play a few matches. It's one place you won't get called a shitbird by a 12 year old. Where you can just...relax. It's not competitive, which is good. It doesn't have a campaign, but that's not what the game is about. It's about immersing yourself as one of the millions of soldiers in this universe and power ups are common enough that even if you suck you can still enjoy it. This game isn't trying to be competitive...it doesn't want a campaign mode. It wants to be played a few times for FUN. Not for completionists, not for hardcore mlg kids, it's for you and me, at the end or beginning of the day. And if you play it like that, it's actually pretty good.

I should start listening to this singer. Very smart I can only see the young naive gamers buying it. Either too young to know the original, or just naive and didn't really scrutinize the game before purchase and just paid for the theme
