Refer-a-Friend?
So...you can get exclusive stuff for "linking" with a friend, but only if that friend has never played Destiny before? What about those friends who want to like together that have already played the game?
Do I really have to make a friend go out and buy a ps4 (with Destiny) just to get exclusive content?
Way to cater to your veteran players, Bungie.

Who cares? It's just a ploy to get people to do sales and marketing for them. They should be paying you real money for doing their work for them.
