Nothing wrong with reading a few reviews, you can make an educated guess when they're all saying the same thing about a game.
It's sad when people go out, buy games blindly without doing some research. It doesn't matter if SWBF is fun because the game has no content.
It's a nasty business strategy by E.A. and they're pulling the wool over their consumers eye's, selling a shell of a game that doesn't justify the asking price...

Um, what? It does in fact matter that the game is fun. A lack of content can hinder a game but it won't kill it. Case in point; Year one Destiny pre-DLC. I agree that people blindly buying games without doing even a modicum of research to see if they'll like it is stupid, but not everyone takes the time to do so. As for EA pulling the wool over people's eyes... Well, I can't argue they aren't with any real reasoning because -blam!- EA. Worst company ever (besides Activision. Activision is in a league of it's own.). Now I'm not saying everyone has to love SWBF, but it is a fundamentally good game. Just like Destiny was a fundamentally good game. Nothing special, but good. I hope to see SWBF grow into something truly amazing, if it isn't already. I am of the opinion it is. How many games can you say let's a robot the size of a ten year old fall out of the sky and kill someone while shooting laser blasts at them? Eh?

Edited by Retro_Spective: 11/22/2015 10:10:02 AMDestiny had more Content than SWBF on release. Destiny also uses psychological techniques that keep its player base hooked. I would be surprised if SWBF is still being talked about next week. C'mon man the game only has four maps, DLC will only bring another four planets. I won't start about how poor the gunplay is in SWBF. Destiny always had great gunplay, a good foundation to build upon. SWBF has nothing to build upon, will go stale in a few weeks. BF5 is already in development. Dice will need to release something special after the last two disasters...

What disasters?

Edited by CAD1420Z: 11/22/2015 10:35:29 AMThere are actually around 12-15 maps. I didn't count them but somewhere around there. 4 per planet and at least one variation of a map. Battle of Jakku will add at least another 4 maps but only one planet, unless that's changed. I hope so, 4 new planets would be awesome. No, actually, I find the gunplay is superb. It takes at least some skill most of the time. And there's variety in how you die/kill. I've only gotten killed by the shotgun-equivalent all of, maybe 6 or so times? I'd much rather use a projectile based combat system than hitscan, or near-instant-hit projectiles, if it isn't hitscan. And as for a lack of variety... If you remember, Destiny STILL has fewer game modes than Battlefront. Let me list them for you if you don't remember: Clash, Rumble, Control, Combined Arms, Elimination, Doubles, Salvage, and Skirmish. Sub-types like Inferno don't count, and neither does Trials of Osiris or Iron Banner. Battlefront has: Supremacy, Blast, Droid Run, Walker Assault, Hero Hunt, Hero Battle, Fighter Squadron, Cargo and Drop Zone. That's still one more mode than Destiny has for it's PVP part of the game, and that's a FULL YEAR after Destiny released, which added two gamemodes. Elimination and Doubles. I think Battlefront's going to do just fine. I have no interest in the battlefield franchise. I fully support DICE's Battlefront though. It's a beautiful, well-built and ultimately fun game. Edit: Ah, my mistake. I forgot they added Mayhem (Which doesn't count, since it's a variant) and Rift. That makes it on par with Battlefront, a full year after Destiny's release, game-mode count wise. Still, almost none of Destiny's gamemodes are unique. Around half/over half of Battlefronts are.

Lol time will tell, you forgot to take into account destiny's PvE content. ☺ Let me know what you think of SWBF after a week. How many hour's have you played, what modes do you primarily play?...

I didn't forget Destiny's PVE content, i didn't include it because of course there's more PVE content in Destiny than Battlefront. There's no comparing the two. I've played somewhere around 17-ish hours I want to say so far. Supremacy is quite fun, but walker assault is generally frustrating. I haven't played Drop Zone yet but if it's like the beta version then it's still fun. Every game mode is fun, in general as well. Especially the Hero Hunt and Battle modes. The PVE content is roughly equivalent in the amount of maps, but a bit stunted for modes. AI battles are fun once or twice, but get old quick. Survival is actually a bit challenging sometimes. I think the highlight of the PVE modes are the tutorial missions. They throw you into a way to play and tell you what to do, but the mission itself is actually quite fun. Particularly the speeder bike chase one. I'd rate Battlefront a 8.5/10 or a 9/10 easily. It's not very flawed, although you can get to some pretty cheap places with the jump pack. The only reason the score is brought down, honestly, is the lack in customization (which isn't a big deal anyway, to be honest), weapon choice, and gamemodes/maps. I'm sure that can be fixed though.
