Double Trouble
Oryx's Dreadnaught, Hull Breach
Layla and Kylo Oxton stand on a high ledge on the Dreadnaught, overlooking the Cabal and Hive. Layla and playfully dangling her feet off the edge while Kylo is down on one knee and his wrist is rested on it, he's scouting the area. Kylo looks at Layla.
"Can you stop it?"
"Stop what?"
"Humming. It's aggravating."
"Yeah. Sure."
"I SAID STOP!"
"I STOPPED! I STOPPED!"
"NO! YOU DIDNT! YOURE STILL HUMMING!"
"IM NOT HUMMING! ITS A MILD CHORTLE!"
"WHATS A CHORTLE?!"
"LIKE A HUM EXCEPT NOT A HUM!"
"THAT DOESNT EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE!"
"IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!"
"LAYLA! I SWEAR TO GOD!"
"OK! OK! Ok. I'll stop humming AND mildly chortling."
"Thank you."
Kylo quickly points.
"Theirs our man."
It's an Acolyte. Except with black armor and pale skin. It's holding what seems to be a black stone, radiating green aura.
"And theirs our Ascendent Stone."
They both get up.
"Race you to the checkpoint!"
Layla starts to blink away.
"Hmph."
Kylo drops into a void portal.
They both arrive at a slab of cover and duck behind it. The Acolyte passes by them. They both quickly turn up behind him. Kylo taking out his dual Hollowed Silence of A'arn's. And Layla takes her dual Imago Loops. They both aim at him. Kylo speaks first.
"Zodrik. We have a couple questions for you."
"Hehe, Guardians. Like mice chasing cheese. Only to get caught by a cat."
The Acolyte speaks English, but his voice is hard, like rock scraping on rock. Suddenly he throws the Ascendent Stone causing a blinding green light. When the siblings get their senses the Acolyte is behind a barred door. He grins.
"Like mice caught by a cat."
Suddenly Hive teleport in:15 Thralls. 10 Acolytes. 5 Knights. 2 Wizards. And 1 Ogre.
"Back to back!"
They say it at the same time and lean on each others backs. They point their weapons.
"Bet I can kill more than you bro!"
"Hmph. Challenge accepted."
(Aaaaaaaand Open!)

*A warlock shows up out of nowhere perhaps a vex gate. The doesn't matter. He was on top of the ogre* "This smells horri- oh -blam!-" *He grabs a knife and stabs the ogre in the eye about ten times then jumps off. He launched a nova bomb that kills a lot of the hive*

The Stormcaller Jonathan was not having a nice day. In the form of the Taken. He was trying to extract information about their realm and he had... Trouble. But he didn't understand why. He had gone as high as any normal Guardian would go. He didn't expect to find the information he needed in a drone or even a small time commander. But he tackled Champions and Zealots. Not one scrap of useable data. Oryx was smart. And John didn't like to fight smart opposition. It got to hectic with all the subterfuge and double crossing and double agents and triple agents and everything else. He sighed. Fighting a dim opponent meant one thing. You and him were going to go all out. No running. No tricks. It was simple. He was still down in the dumps when he looked up and saw 2 Guardians. 1 a Warlock and the other a Hunter. He could hear the bickering from where he stood. It had something to do with humming and a chilton. Glad some else had an appreciation for the finer things. A tasty fruit, it was. Offtopic. The two Guardians ran after a rather important looking Hive. John decided to shadow them. He ghosted over to where the Hive was... Waiting for them? Interesting. He drifted closer and picked up speech. Something about cats and mice and cheese. Cheese is awesome. Except the oversized wheels. Never took to them. He was considering the finer points of cheese when a blinding light overtook him and he found himself looking at a cell. The two Guardians were then presented with a good deal of Hive firepower. John, years of experience and training taking over, rushed to the Hive soldier that originally imprisoned the two. He rammed the bayonet on his Eyasluna in the fleshy part connecting the shoulder to arm. He followed with one round into the ashy body of the Hive and then he took a closer look at how the two Guardians fought back to back

Layla and Oxton don't seem to notice the dead hive that trapped them. They opened fire on the hive killing a lot of them. They get off each other's backs and charge at the remaining hive. Layla blinks like no hunter Jonathan has ever seen before. She pulls them off lighting quick and delivers several fatal kicks to her side of hive forces, giggling the entire time. Kylo has a darker and more brutal way of fighting. He moves like a ghost, swift and dangerous. He leaves a void essence wherever he goes. He dodges fire and punches from the hive and snaps there necks, tears off their limbs or ripping out their throats. The hive retreat and the siblings are victorious. "Oi! That was so much bloody fun!" "You got that right. I lost count." "Heh same! Guess we could call it a tie?" "Yeah. A tie."
-
John clears his throat rather loudly to maybe get their attention. He did not like to be ignored, especially since he was planning on getting them out of this cell. "Hey. Hi. How's it going? I'm Jonathan. I originally planned for this to be a peaceful day but now I get to deal with this. So, either of you maybe want to explain why I was teleported by a Hive that looked like he ate a glow stick?" He was lost. Aside from the two Guardians doing things they were not meant to, he didn't know where they were. And that troubled him. He needed information. He loved information. It made his job easier. So when he sees a Hunter that can actually blink, AKA spacial-time distortion and not a brief period of hyper acceleration, he's going to have questions. Not to mention why the Warlock was being so dirty with his light. He could feel the Void essence he left behind. He should have been taught better. While waiting for their answer he decided to get something done. "Ghost?" "You know, you could call me by my name" "Why? You're a ball. And an AI" "You still call Rasputin his name and not computer. And you call Exos by their names" "Fair enough. But for the argument of your a ball..." "So? This ball does all your work for you" "Oh is she? Is that why we're arguing?" "Could you maybe be a little nicer? I would appreciate it" "Feminine charm doesn't work if I'm not given incentive." "Damn. What's up?" "Could you call down my ship for me? Have it ready near the Hull Breach" "You got it" "Thank you... Maria" "Would have been better without the hesitation" John sighed at the end of his mental conversation as he waited for the two Guardians to respond.

The hunter speaks first. "'Ello Jonathan! I'm Layla! Layla Oxton! This is my brother Kylo!" Kylo doesn't make a sound and just stares at you with his crow skull mask. It's unnerving. "Yeah he's a bit weird. Anyway! We don't know a hive glowstick guy but um. Thanks! For killing the merchant for us!" "Just stealing the pleasure.." Kylos voice is grave and mysterious. Making a stark contrast for his sisters happy British accent.

"I'm... Charmed" John hesitated when his eyes drifted to the Warlock. There was something off about him. Something he was hiding. John craved knowledge. The ability to know anything and everything was an ultimate goal for him. The Hive were a great source. Surprisingly good records but baised information. Offtopic. John suddenly sat down and crossed his legs. He focused on the two Guardians without saying a word and concentrated. His breathing slowed and he felt his mind drift away from reality. The background senses started to disappear one by one until he felt in utter nothingness. Then he focused harder. On the two Guardians. He could feel their presence. The Hunter was energetic. Lively. Very positive presence. A lot of history she chose to ignore. The Warlock was dark. He couldn't feel much presence from him but what he could manage was mangled. Dark. He felt a torrent of anger and hate that burned but was repressed. He opened his eyes and looked at them. "I'm glad to help when I can" John slowly rose and dusted himself off. "So, I assume you have little to no idea where we are or why? No problem. I say we take a little trip around the deeper parts of the Dreadnaught. Always something interesting in here" John walked up to the cage and drew his sword. He tested its weight and and then readied his stance. He lifted the sword back and spoke a single word as he channeled his Light. "Rend" He swung with all his might and the blade passed through the cage without any resistance. The cage slowly started to disintegrate around the slash mark and he spoke again. "Two things. I recommend you get out when you can because I may have put too much Light in the swing. Cage has two minutes before it falls down that canyon. And the other thing. I heard chitons mentioned. You have any? I'm starving"
