Omolon Eirene RR4 better than Black Spindle?
I haven't got the Spindle so far (during the best run at it I had, my inet connection crapped out when we were at the door of the boss room - thanks to Deutsche Telekom), but I got the Omolon Eirene RR4 from the gunsmith last week with luck in the chamber and mulligan perks. It has bigger impact than the Spindle (edit: that's at least what the wiki says - edit 2: the wiki apparently is wrong :p), handles very well and has very good zoom optics.
What do you think?

Hell no. If you can get White Nail to activate, there's no beating the Spindle's DPS.

19 RepliesIt doesnt have bigger impact. Lets get this out the way now, no sniper in game currently is better than spindle. That said, your rr4 is superb and will probably serve you just as well

I run an above 310 exotic sword on Warpriest and golg fight because I have a 319 harrowed sniper that does almost as much damage as both of them. Plus I can one hit the yellow Knights on Warpriest and clear adds on golg without using storm caller. So for my style both are equal and both get their time in the vault. If I had to choose probably eirene. Btw I never used black hammer in year one. It was never needed. Regardless of spindles damage its to slow and clunky for me. Eirene is faster and does equal damage and harrowed is fast and easier to use IMO and damage is good.

Black spindle only shines in a couple encounters, white nail is hard to proc consistently unless you are MLG420noskopesavage Eirene is a better bet for crucible and the larger mag makes it more forgiving

Spindle shines in the raid against Warpriest and Golgoroth. The lack of reloading allows you to put in some serious damage.

7 RepliesThe spindle has higher impact. I have both. At same level spindle>eirene for first two raid bosses. All other activities, eirene> spindle. Spindle takes exotic slot, not worth it unless you have limited time to land all shots against a large/stationary target. Personally I use either eirene or 1000 yard with casket mag and triple tap. (Have that roll on both)

I've compared 1000yd, eirene, and the spindle.The spindle has higher impact, but fires a bit slower than these two legendaries. I rarely miss a crit shot on the bosses, so for me the spindle always out damages both the yd and rr4. I use ToM on the sisters and oryx, but before this I used 1000yd with spray and play, the fast reload made it a beast.

I don't like the Eirene, I don't like the scopes, it handles really awkwardly and I really hate how much the scope wanders around the screen when you scope in and out. It feels like someone pulls it in a completely different direction. Especially when you empty the mag and your forced out of scope for reload, the crosshair moves all over the screen without me even touching the pads. It just feels really weird. And it sounds weird. No. I couldn't make friends with her.

Love that I can shoot and pickup ammo with my RR4 - I don't use the spindle as takes up the exotic spot.

Spindle is the highest impact sniper in the game. Spindle is better for the first half of the raid... The second half I always use the malice so I use the omolon snipe then

You can stagger war priest in one shot with spindle. Need 2 with rr4. My spindle is 313 and rr4 is 319.

Spindle is more impact and when facing bosses like war priest and GOLGOROTH if you always hot critical hits you never reload

For general use pve/pvp yes main factor being its legendary. For raid no as spindle self reloads so cant beat that on bosses etc
