Isis goes deeper than you think

Exactly as the title suggests, our beef with Isis goes as far back as the Vietnam war. It's a very old problem with a lot of history involved. Let's have a look. In the time that America was at War with Vietnam, a communist sympathizer at the time, Russia was scrapped by the cold war treaties to dissolve their power. Russia saw an opportunity to strike back at us, by supplying Vietnam with weapons to kill Americans. Naturally, we took offense to this. We left, with egg on our faces and the single greatest loss ever handed to us. At this time, Vietnam was a third world country. It was unfathomable that they kicked our ass, but they did, with help from Russia. Enter the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. The Russians were crushing them with brute force, and America saw an opportunity to return the favor. We trained the militants to use stinger missiles to take down the Russian air superiority. One of the people trained was one Osama Bin Laden. Yup. You read that right. We trained him. Russia got their ass kicked by a third world nation, just like us, and two wrongs make a right. Fast forward to Bill Clinton and the war on drugs. Part of this program was to burn the poppy crops in Afghanistan. This completly destroyed their economy, and left them feeling betrayed. After all, the Taliban were our buddies ,at the time. We destroyed their economy, so they struck ours, by bringing down the world trade center. We quickly clean up our mess by killing their leadership. While we are waging war over oil in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, killing anyone in our way and simply taking the oil, the Muslims suffer our misdirected wrath. We had been bombing these guys since the nineties, after all. Add this to our support of Israel in the Gaza strip, and defending the senseless attacks Israel carries out almost daily on the Muslim world, and these people -blam!-ing hate us now. Fast forward again to Syria. These people have suffered for two years, while we do nothing. We play it off as if Russia and China would intervene, if we helped, but its not the truth. The truth is there is no oil there for us. We rush in to help oil rich nations to help ourselves to low prices at the pump, but allow a tyrant to murder his own people for two years, with very little help. If we are the world's police, then so be it. We don't turn our backs on people. But, we did. Now that we will intervene in Syria, the citizens seek refuge. It's common practice for most countries, but for some reason Syrians are different. Nobody wants to help them. Isis recruits one out of one hundred refugees as sleeper cells. They have been bombed by their own leaders, bombed by coalition forces, forced into retreat from their own country and Isis is the only one on the ground, helping them. I don't want Syrian refugees in my country, but I can't help feeling sorry for the 99/100 that are truly seeking asylum. It's a sad situation, and I can't help thinking about it, as I'm enjoying my steak. What a mess we've created.... Tldr: its a good read. You really should at least skim it. But, here goes. The US and Russia hate each other and Isis is a byproduct of our squabbles. It's all Obama's fault for letting Asad (cod, anyone?) Murder his ppl for two years. Pics or it didn't happen: http://imgur.com/pI1Ly7o Open at your own peril. It's very real... For anyone thinking I sympathize with Isis: Isis is to Muslims as the KKK is to Christianity.
Isis goes deeper than you think
That's what she said. All jokes aside though, yes. It's partly a byproduct. But let's not forget that this region of land where ISIS is from has been extremely volatile since recorded history. Countless wars and invasions and slaughtering. And these extremists would've popped up regardless. People always crave power, and if they can use a vague, really disorderly religious book filled with many violent texts, then they will. Because is anything can make a person feel assured what they're doing is right and ok, it's religion. They'll use it to feel good about what they're doing because they believe they're doing it for what they view is a good cause.
