Why? just why? its the same as the regular gear/weapons with higher light. with no elemental primaries what's the point? has the game changed from a loot game to a light game? so now we chase light instead of awesome weapons and gear? Palate swaps are not a reason to chase gear that is the same as a raid that much easier. Also lack luster exotics that no one really cares about aren't worth it either. I say all this to say taking away elemental primaries was a huge mistake. Taking away exotics and legendary raid weapons/gear was also a mistake. Bungie does all this double talk but they make less sense every single time they impliment these changes into the game. Heck some are changes that aren't even really changes.
You know what infusion is? the same thing etheric light was but instead of using that item you use another weapon and instead of only needed to do it once to raise the item to max level you have to find all sorts of weapons to accomplish that. Why not keep etheric light and just make it jump your weapons/gear 10-20 levels with every use if they didn't want it to get maxed out right away. why use this foolish infusion?
You know those year one exotics that you got with vanilla destiny or within year 1? to use some of them in year 2 at the new level you had to pay them 40 bucks even though you already paid them "100" for year 1. Not only that but they made you level them up 3 times. the first was horrific and they said they learned their lesson so the second time they made it a bit easier. guess what, the third time they made it just as awful as the first time taking steps backwards. you know those really powerful/fun to use exotics from year 1? you may or may not get them back in year 2 but it will cost you either the 40 you paid for TTK or more if they come back in another DLC. you know those exotics they showed in videos of TTK? forget about those until you pay them some more money or until someone flips a switch at bungie HQ.
What about those raid weapons you fought hard for and hoped would drop after 25 raid completions? GONE. They designed those weapons so well and were so much fun they said "ok guys we can't capture lightning in a bottle again so you know what, even though we let them keep them all in year one AND made public statements that we would let them keep it... were cutting them off".. WTH? I don't get how they say this way is better. We give you more options this way they say. Last time i did simple math any time you subtract something you have less than you did before. No one is forcing the community to use elemental primaries. if you don't wanna use gally then don't. if you don't wanna use fatebringer then don't. use the gunsmiths junk or the harrowed gear from HM if you choose but for those that want to use the old weapons we should be able to. that or the devs need to come up with weapons that are better that take our attention away from those other weapons. Current HM and Trials weapons are nothing more than skin swaps with higher light. nothing to see here.
I guess i say all this to say why do they keep making the same mistakes over and over and over? can anyone explain it to me?

I agree. The old raids were fun because we were always chasing that fatebringer or black hammer. Now the raid weapons aren't wiry actually doing the raid for, as they all have very average perks and stats.
