I 100% agree with what you are saying but i don't want it to happen (sounds strange but hear me out)
Say they bring back all year one guns people would be overjoyed at first that's obvious, but think about it in the long term if you have a gun(or set of guns)from year one that you u love(I had my adept scholar) imagine how easily you would experience burnout and move on to another game, bungo doesn't want that to happen.(despite how they are treating us right now)
I may not speak for everyone but I don't want to use the fatebringer, black hammer and g-horn for 1 more year, that shit would get boring fast.
If you always used the same guns then you would miss out on what could be your new favourite gun,its what happened to me in house of wolves.
And even if they don't do this for weapons they should at least do it for amour,I want my death singers set back..

Who said you have to use old weapons. The point is to use what ever you like old or new. If you like the new weapons then use them if I like the old then I should be able to use them. The word we are looking for is CHOICE!!!!. It should be my choice NO GAME COMPANY SHOULD TELL ITS CONSUMER HOW OR WHAT TO PLAY WITH!!!

Because everything was a potential option, I felt the need to try everything out! I used VoG gear, Crota gear, Trials gear, Faction gear, etc., and so did most of the people I played with. Sure, we might have gone back to old favorites, sometimes, but it was rare that anyone was only using old gear, you know? And, moreover, if Year 1 was brought forward, you wouldn't have to use FB, Blackhammer, or Ghorn; you'd be free to use just new stuff, if that's what you want, without affecting anyone else's choices, you know? (Plus, all those weapons were nerfed, so you'd probably wanna move on, anyway, haha) Ultimately, I guess I'm just saying that, as long as it isn't hurting anyone, I think that the most important thing to preserve is player choice. :)

I think the real concern here isn't so much choice as meta game. With an organized community of dedicated players willing to theory craft all possible permutations of gear, year 1 gear in some instances may remain the best in a given slot. This broadens the scope of the meta game quite a bit and makes balancing new gear that much harder.

I'm not asking them to do additional effort, dude; I'm asking them to act on the fact that they already did it. Year 1 gear is still usable in 95% of PvP, so they had to balance it, and they will always have to balance it, until the end of the game. Even if it only affects 20% of the game (regular PvP), they still have to put in the same amount of effort to balance the "Meta" as they would if they were balancing the entire game... Because they still have to balance every weapon in the game. As such, there is no, goddam reason to leave Y1 behind. Its asinine.
