Alright, here we go. A worthy competitor to the best the Darkness has thrown out of us. Guardians everywhere rejoiced in his defeat, but... Is there a stronger foe to face? The answer is yes. Definitely. The Moon Lord. Where is the Moon Lord from? A game called Terraria, and I'm sure you've heard of it. Most of you have probably only played the console version of Terraria, so you may be wondering, 'Moon Lord isn't in Terraria!' He's PC only, to get the confusion out of the way. An argument among friends had shown itself not to long ago, and it was a who would win. Oryx of Destiny, or the Moon Lord of Terraria. So I'll be putting them up against each other here. Here's a profile of each character: Oryx, the Taken King A power hungry Hive god striving for vengeance against his dead son. He commands the Hive almost single handedly and does it from his vast space fortress, the Dreadnaught. Oryx is perhaps the only being that is so closely connected to the Darkness. He is capable of many dangerous things, and his army is just as capable. The Moon Lord The Moon Lord is - you guessed it - the Lord of the Moon. In Terraria, he can be seen as the embodiment of all things wrong and evil in the world. The Moon Lord the brother of Cthulhu himself and harbors nearly the same power as him. Capable of mass destruction and phantasmal powers, the Moon Lord's abilities allow him to move celestial bodies at will. That's right. Moon Lord is Cthulhu's brother (it was confirmed by the creative developer) so he is already boasting insane amounts of power. Now to make it more fair, since the Moon Lord doesn't showcase much of this power in game, we'll give Oryx a little slide and allow him to use his lore. Oryx had obtained his powers to 'Take' from the creation of the Tablets of Ruin. These powers are capable of large scale destruction, and even the Dreadnaught's weapon is charged by this Taken energy. This 'Take' can be used on all beings, or thought to be. It is unknown if there are certain limitations to this 'Take' power, so we're not going to say that Oryx can just simply Take the Moon Lord. Otherwise it'd be far too easy. Also, I won't be doing Raid Oryx, because alone he wouldn't stand a chance against Moon Lord compared to the normal's larger attack disposal. Now onto their stats. Oryx, the Taken King Banish to Darkness Dimension - Oryx can teleport the victim to a confined space and Oryx may hide behind the walls of this realm to attack. Darkness Blast - Three round burst exploding projectiles Grasp of the King - Hides and slowly drains the user's light, or just special ability. King's Decree - If Grasp of the King is not interrupted after a certain amount of time, the victim will be killed instantly. Weak Spot - Head Oryx occasionally teleports. Oryx occasionally summons minions to aid him in battle. The Moon Lord Four different weak spots - Head eye, right hand eye, left hand eye, core (these are the ONLY spots that can be damaged) The head eye only opens seldomly but when it does, it fires the following attacks. Phantasmal Deathray - Massive clockwise laser doing immense damage Phantasmal Bolt - Extremely high speed bullets Both hands have the same stats and the eyes are open most of the time. They also do melee damage unlike the head. Phantasmal Sphere - Large exploding projectiles Phantasmal Bolt - Extremely high speed bullets Phantasmal Eye - High amounts of high speed homing projectiles The core opens up once all three eyes are killed. The core does nothing except have a bulk of the Moon Lord's HP. When an eye is killed, a True Eye of Cthulhu spawns in its place and has the following attacks.+ Phantasmal Sphere - Large exploding projectiles Phantasmal Ray - Miniature version of Phantasmal Deathray Phantasmal Eye - High amounts of high speed homing projectiles Phantasmal Bolt - Extremely high speed bullets These True Eyes of Cthulhu cannot be damaged and disappear once the Moon Lord is slain. The Moon Lord also has a mouth that opens every minute or so to attach a tongue to all available targets. This tongue prevents all regenerative abilities and, if not destroyed in time, can heal the Moon Lord for substantial amounts of HP. We can *assume* that this can prevent Grasp of the King. The Moon Lord also instantly teleports to the target if it gets too far away. So... Moon Lord has a pretty extensive list compared to Oryx's. So what do you guys think? Who would win? The Taken King or the Moon Lord? Also, please watch the video on Moon Lord to get a feel of the fight. Its hard to grasp the feel of the fight, so that video will do. TL;DR Moon Lord sits on Oryx and is done with it. Edit: Let me provide links to their wiki pages: http://www.destinypedia.com/Oryx,_the_Taken_King http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Moon_Lord

Since Oryx 'took' someone as powerful as the Taishibethi Emperor Raven, it can be assumed that his ability to 'take' is not limited by strength. I believe that Oryx cannot 'take' a Guardian because of their excess of Light. Oryx 'taking' the Moon Lord is likely to be entirely possible since The Lord has no Light to counter the power of the Deep. However, in terms of a fair fight, this would actually be a pretty neat fight to watch pan out. Although, Oryx's Doxology attack might give him the upper hand.
