Profanity isn't enough to gain an M rating though.
You don't need constant profanity, if any at all. I don't understand why people think it's realistic or necessary. You can have realistic conversation without it. I'd take the grizzeled veteran who's satisfied in defeating an enemy before refocusing on the main objective than the want'a be hoodrat that can't stop dropping f bombs any day. These are supposed to be "guardians" in destiny. Formal warriors of respect and wisdom, maybe with the exception of Cayde.
It's like saying you need to add sex to show someone is in love. You don't.
Subtlety in action or dialog is powerful. It's the difference between a making out scene against slowly reaching for a hand to have it be met half way by the other. Like the way that a pause in music can have a more profound effect than the most beautiful chord.
Do you think mass effect is so popular because it has sex and profanity? Or is it because you form emotional connections with characters and developing your own interpretation of your character while feeling the tension of impending doom, all while you form a united fleet by ending rivalries that you are just beginning to understand, or the concepts of what qualifies as life?
Do you think the last of us is great because it's colorful language? Or are you pulled in by wanting to resist the very worst of humanity and fight through those infected by a hellish disease while protecting a young girl that you become emotionally attached to? Do you believe that the scene of her finding pornographic magazines is more powerful than the scene of petting a giraffe because it's a more "mature" subject?
The moments that you break from the chaos of the world that exists within the game are far more powerful than the moments of overreaction to current events just to have an excuse to throw out some profanity.
Subtlety in action or dialog is powerful.
this is what I meant, the guardians feel more like mindless robots, boring I mean has no guardian questioned why they do what they do? Who is the traveler why does it exist? Who is the speaker? Where are these characters history like? So much potential that bungie has no idea what to do with, I simply said that putting an m rated allows for more freedom for the developers allowing them to not worry about the teen rating Activision probably enforced allowing for some profanity at well placed times in combat as well as fleshing out some of the power ranger like characters this game has, it feels like this game should be more e rated than T.

If they cared enough to make a story, then the there is no restriction on having the guardians ask those questions. Those are great questions that we ourselves are asking, but you just did it without swaring. It can be done. I can see where you're coming from, but you need to make sure it adds a meaningful addition to the story rather than it being something you think it'd be cool to have. Things like having your ghosts sware, lord shaxx dropping f bombs when it seems a bit out of his existing character, and naked raid bosses sound a lot more like fan service than providing meaningful additions to the story. Boobs hold great power, but they aren't always the answer.
