I think this will open more opportunities for a more enriched story and overall game itself the teen rating limits the amount of creativity the game developers can implement into the game which I think is also a big factor to why destiny's story is so lacklustre. Hopefully they realise their mistake and make destiny 2 mature rated, I also want to state that the teen rating isn't why the story isn't so good, bungie slack of storytelling and cut out content may be a factor to why the story is bad as well, though improved in TTK it's still not good.

Edit: blood and gore doesn't make a game 18 rated it's much more than just swearing and blood.

It's all about money. If the game is M for mature you are possibly excluding a major section of gamers (17 and under) which in turn means less money. I'm positive if they created Destiny 2 and it was given an M rating Bungievision would do anything to get it dropped to a T. Either way they would have to add offensive language, sexuality, and maybe drug and alcohol references to even be considered M and those don't even fit into Destiny given the launch that is Destiny 1. I mean maybe if they bloodied up the combat but again, they are striving for the T rating so they wouldn't do that. If you think about your enemies in Destiny vs Halo they're very similar except there's actual blood shown in Halo where in destiny I guess it shows decompression of their helmet when you headshot? I'm not sure but there's little to no blood in it.
