I think this will open more opportunities for a more enriched story and overall game itself the teen rating limits the amount of creativity the game developers can implement into the game which I think is also a big factor to why destiny's story is so lacklustre. Hopefully they realise their mistake and make destiny 2 mature rated, I also want to state that the teen rating isn't why the story isn't so good, bungie slack of storytelling and cut out content may be a factor to why the story is bad as well, though improved in TTK it's still not good.

Edit: blood and gore doesn't make a game 18 rated it's much more than just swearing and blood.
-
Lol like that's gonna change the little kids
-
I think an M rating wouldn't hurt the game much, but I don't think it would improve it much either. Nor would it stop people below that age from playing.
-
Halo is 16+ but does the story suffer from it? I don't think so.
-
A more mature rating doesn't necessarily mean the story is just going to get magically better. I agree though, it could enhance it.
looking at chu FFVII
~TheGreatNike

Making a game M (or 18+) doesn't immediately enrich it's story. CoD is M and has laughably no important story, ever. The game I always like to harken people back to when they talk like this... Shadow of the Colossus is rated T. One of the best stories ever. It's not the rating that made an underperforming game. It was just Bungie.
Sorry Bungie, love you guys
*Puts on huge nerd glasses Uh technically it's 17+
-
Can we have an 18+ forum so the overly sensitive ninjas don't get butthurt so easily?
-
Nope. Bigger audience with a Teen rating. Halo 5 isn't even rated M anymore.
-
And little kids would still be in the raids
-
Idk. Better games are rated mature but being rated mature doesn't make a game better. Having dinklebot say "oh shit it's the thrall" and having some blood animations but with overall the same massive design problems would still have us in this situation. Actually I take that back having the ghost swear would be great nevermind. Also way to introduce assassinations to halo in Reach and then not have them in destiny.
-
It wouldn't matter spoiled brats would just lie about their age anyways or get their parents to sign up and then use the account, by then we couldn't do anything about it because it's the parents choice of letting them Play a mature rated game or not
-
Wow, just wow. Such a creative attempt to blame our current lame story on the age of the player base.
-
As much as I'd like it, it'll limit their market too much. No way it'll happen.
-
He didn't say anything about how the squeakers effect the game, just how the game could be better
-
Destiny was rated T so more people would buy it. I know most kids have their parents buy their m rated games But a large group of teens dont. Making destiny rated T was to get more income.
-
It would allow for a more mature story and an addition of more RPG elements. I like it.
-
It doesn't need to be 18+. The only thing that would change would be the blood. It doesn't need to be M to have a great story. Look at the recent Call of Duty's. All of them have had shit stories, except for BO1. A game doesn't have to be overly violent or sexual to have a good story.
-
Please make it more gory! I want to feel even more powerful after killing a Cabal. There head popping off isn't enough, Cabal blood needs to squirt all over.
-
"-blam!-" and intense amounts of blood wouldn't fit into Destiny, in my opinion.
-
All that does is add profanity and blood. Destiny is actually pretty great without it. Plus this won't prevent squeakers from playing cause damn GTA online is covered in squeakers. They just get mommy and daddy to buy it cause no one gives a -blam!- about ratings.
-
There are more people under 18 that play this game
-
I would prefer a more mature story. This only because it opens doors for darker subject matters. With a teen rating, you can't have these really dark subject matters.
-
Fallout is 18+
-
Sad thing is, parents would still by their 10 year old the fűckin game.
-
Yes gore 👅
