I think this will open more opportunities for a more enriched story and overall game itself the teen rating limits the amount of creativity the game developers can implement into the game which I think is also a big factor to why destiny's story is so lacklustre. Hopefully they realise their mistake and make destiny 2 mature rated, I also want to state that the teen rating isn't why the story isn't so good, bungie slack of storytelling and cut out content may be a factor to why the story is bad as well, though improved in TTK it's still not good.
Discuss...
Edit: blood and gore doesn't make a game 18 rated it's much more than just swearing and blood.

So I can't play m rated stuff cuz my parent don't understand an m rated game that isn't gta isn't to bad so it has a bad story not bcuz it's rated t it's bungie fault for slacking so ur dumb post is stopping me from playing with my real only friend bcuz he can play m rated I can't so and less people will buy it less kids but same adults pretty much cuts profit in half so it's a bit stupid to think one thing bcuz you don't understand is causing a big problem and making it m rated is a big fuk you to ppl like me and my friends
-
I like the diversity or people it allows to play(not saying I like squeakers, they are annoying as butt) but I do like the lack of cussing every 3rd word. Not everyone enjoys language or extreme violence and I think bungie did good on keeping it T
-
Some people just don't understand. Its not about stopping certain players from playing the game. (Even though it wouldn't if it meant to) it means taking off restrictions. If you really look at it. M rated Games do more better than anything lower rated

I'm just embarrassed to se this post!

18+? No M? Yes
-
Rated X We need to get some titties up in that damn lounge!!
500 Silver to get in! You laugh now but it doesn't affect the game what so ever! We should get Moxxi to bartend.
-
What more beside swearing and blood makes a game m. Do you want destiny to be a damn porno? You wanna see the darkblade -blam!- oryx daughter instead of just hearing about it? Give me a break. Gtfo with your dumbass thread
-
I hope for the people who voted yes, know that a M rated game doesn't keep out the kids...
-
Dafuq?

I'm 14 and I got fallout 4. By the way, that game is amazing. Fallout 4 is 18+ and making destiny 18+ will not stop anything.
-
It will still be infested with children because their parents will buy them the games.
-
Yup, and I'll still get it at 16 years old. Make M+ games all you want. It will probably stop no one
-
More leaked concept art!
-
Yes....
Playing with 8 year old squeakers as an adult is just weird....
-
I personally hate gory scenes where people are getting torn apart and their insides are everywhere. Hence why I see mortal combat as a piece of disgusting trash
-
are u implying that kids under 18 wont get the game?
-
I would say "Mature 17+" Yes. But 18+? What's it gonna be a porn game. Come on now.

Edited by Afawafa: 11/13/2015 12:44:31 AMIf anything, gratuitous violence and sexual themes would just attract more edgy teenagers. If there was one thing special about Destiny's atmosphere, it's that it's much more fantastical than most other shooters. Destiny isn't good at portraying realism, but that's more of a strength than a weakness. Everything feels unreal or mystical like some grand space fantasy. It's quite a refreshing break from the gritty realistic shooters that are so prevalent now. I feel that the lack of blood and gore despite enemies getting decapitated, split in half or dismembered helps further disconnect Destiny from reality.

Hopefully dude, I feel like the game is being held back by younger ages, and imagine how much better the community would be
-
Bump this ffs!

I'm white trash and I'm in trouble

It's a fantasy sci fi game. An 11 could play it. Now just because some ignorant speaker annoys you doesn't mean you have to make some poll about it

Edited by Vegalink: 11/12/2015 9:27:31 PMI don't really know what else besides gore, swearing and sex would make it a mature game. I mean the story about the hive torturing members of the fireteam in the grimoire or people being erased from existance could be pretty disturbing if they wanted it to be. Those stories themselves could be pretty twisted, but I dunno how they would be more so without throwing in blood and guts, people screaming as you watch their torture, going insane as they are erased from time, etc. And that would make it a mature game. I dunno if that would make it a "richer" story though. My guess is most people who voted yes just don't want to have to play with as many younger players, which a mature rating won't really resolve anyways.

Said this earlier, but be careful. What most people are asking for is more of a fan service than doing something that would add story or benefit the game's content. Story is limited more by the effort they are willing to put out in order to write it than the blood, swaring, or nudity people keep referring to.
I won't requote what I wrote earlier.
That's not how ratings work. They make the game, esbr reviews it, then rates it. T is what they got from what they made
