Hmm, 1 good reason? To give brand new players a chance, otherwise as the game ages, new players will be so behind they will just not even try. If there is no new players, then the game will die as people stop playing. I'm a day 1 player, ya I wish I could use some of my old weapons, but it's necessary to let the game keep growing :)
