In Louisiana 2 cops opened fire on a man who had his hands raised and was not being aggressive in anyway, according to the squad cameras. The police shooting killed 6 year old Jeremy Mardis (pictured above as of 4 days ago) and left his father severely injured. Jeremy was described by his teachers as being a bright, kind child, despite suffering from mild autism.

Although details are yet to be released, this appears to be yet another case of police brutality. Although I am furious, I can't help but consider how many lives good cops have saved. This incident is an utter outrage that demands justice, but we must not forget the bigger picture. What do you think should be done to stop police violence?
Update: Some new info on the case. The two cops involved have a pending civil suit for allegedly using excessive force in 2013. One of the officers knew the boys father. Looks like this could be a case of bad apples with a personal grudge. We'll see...

Update 2 It appears that the entire police force is embroiled in a larger conflict of corruption.

Edit:
I am not posting this to say only violence against African Americans gets reported. The media seizes on the sensational, yes. But to their credit, this story has appeared in several mainstream news venues. I am posting this, not only to bring attention to the tragedy itself, but to affirm that police brutality is a problem across American culture. One that needs to be seriously addressed.
The gov should do more about these already corrupt situations...
-
Because you opened this. you will get kissed on Friday by the person you love or like. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. Do not break this chain. You have 2 minutes this is not a fake...apparently. Forward this to 15 people in the next 15 minutes and you WILL have the best day of your life tomorrow. You're number one crush will either KISS, ask you out, or call you. If you break this chain, the little girl named Kaitlyn who died 2 years ago on a car crash will be in your room TONIGHT! Good luck <<3, and your time starts, right know No Cheatin Haha

Cops kill unarmed man and 6 year old son* Fixed the autistic part was merely for the extra attention and not necessary
-
instead of stopping police violence... how bout just violence?
-
The new racism is blackism, its only racist if a straight white male with an average or above income says it
-
Not black? Who cares...
-
So 2 BLACK cops shoot a WHITE kid and no one classifies this as racist. If the shoe were on the other foot so to speak, not only would the cops be attacked for racism but we would have another Ferguson incident. Got to love double standards
-
Lets remember that this is a case of a few bad apples ruining the whole batch. This shooting is rather confusing and I suspect it may have been a case of mistaken identify or possibly the father and the two cops may of had some prior history that could of led to this, I haven't been keeping up on this. But still just because a few cops act this way doesn't mean I am throwing them all under the bus
-
Stop police violence? How about real consequences for their actions
-
Another reason why i hate those filthy scumbags
-
Police need to answer for their actions. Maybe instead of civil race riots and rage feuled all our war against each other we should all come together as people wanting a better tomorrow and make them answer for their crimes against the american public. Races aside they have gone to far too many times and our ignoring their actions only condones and ensures further corruption.
-
They weren't black so no one cares, according to America logic.
-
Weird, I wonder why this hasn't made national news. Oh that's right, he wasn't black.
-
Put them with the general population. Bet they don't come out alive
-
Maybe if the police didn't have guns, they couldn't shoot people...
-
Maybe he shouldn't have been so autistic
-
There's something shady about this story. It seems like those cops were out to execute that guy. It'll be interesting to get all the facts. On a side note, psyche evaluations for police officers probably need to be a little stricter.
-
He should've had a bigger gun so that he wood be safer from the govurnmint
-
Whites Unite! Let's riot

Edited by shell: 11/10/2015 10:55:09 PMHows that a surprise? I've actually seen a woman getting mugged while a cop sits at the bus stop, watching, munching on an apple or something. I didn't even see his cruiser nearby.
-
ehh shit happens....life goes on, for most involved, for the others...not so much
-
Oh baby a triple
-
Fvxking black privilege. #WhiteLivesMatter
-

-
