I was wondering what makes so many people so hyped for Fallout. Is it a great story? The open world? The environment or something else?
I'm asking because I haven't been a big RPG guy in the past but I played through the Witcher 3 and loved it. So I am more open to the possibility that I might enjoy this as well.
The story is what made the Witcher so special to me and I did not like Dragon Age: I. Don't know if that is helpful or not but I wanted #gaming to give some real feedback

It's elder scrolls with guns and nukes

Story is garbage in almost every bethesda game of late. The trailers all point to this story being garbage too. Its all about the huge and packed world, great gameplay, and varied playstyles.

Edited by Gordonian Knot: 11/10/2015 3:20:44 AMMaking your character. The music is awesome. The setting.
Fallout 3 at least. It really felt like an actual apocalypse happened. New Vegas felt more like a steampunk western to me.
Lots of quirky characters and situations. SO MANY GUNS IN 4. Being able to customize power armor now is awesome! Plus being able to make your own town is cool. Or being able to name your character "f*ckface" and have Codsworth call you that XD I'm absolutely pumped, can't wait to get my Pip-Boy edition tomorrow ^_^

Dragon Age was bad. It's good that you didn't enjoy it

Skyrim with guns

It's because it's such a content filled environment. There's so much to do, so many builds and weapons, DLCs that actually have content and meat to them. Sure it's got bugs, some nasty ones, but in the end Fallout is a really solid game.
