First of all, who cares? If they want to charge and people are willing to pay then it's simply a business transaction and that's the full prerogative of both parties involved. Second of all, I absolutely guarantee that they aren't making these ludicrous amounts of money you're talking about. They probably just make around a few hundreds of dollars per weekend of trials.

  • The 'ludicrous' amounts of money that I was referencing was a possibility to frame your perspective, not a 'they get this every weekend' kind of situation. If that guy is charging $80 (which he is) per card run and he carries 10 people then that is $800 in the equivalent to one work week pretax. That's the same as making $41,600 annually which is the same as someone in the lower middle class. I figured the $83k from the fact that he's making $40 in one hour on average which is the same as $83k annually. Not that ludicrous, especially since I didnt say they were making that much money off of trials annually.

  • Oh I'm sorry, I pulled an all-nighter studying for a grad school exam I have later today and I guess I somehow misread what you said. Yes it's possible that they may make up to 800 or 1000 dollars in a trials weekend, but I'd guess that they probably average closer to 300-400 dollars for a trials weekend.
