This happens a lot in games where you can have a team. Most mmorpgs have this. WOW for example. People pay up to $1000 for a raid spot. Because you are paying for a spot and compensating for whoever isn't doing that raid

  • Say you have a group of friends that does the oryx raid on hard. If someone who isn't in your group wants to do the raid, you charge them to join that raid a certain amount, but you also charge them for the spot they took from someone else. Compensating for that person in your group that isn't doing the raid
