Edit: Thanks guys, I get that I spelled guaranteed wrong I've fixed it now...
I know this has been happening from the beginning of trials and I'm SURE it's very lucrative with some people 'charging' upwards of $120 or more to carry total scrubs to the lighthouse (I was watching a stream where I'm surprised the guy being carried could even complete PvE content, he was charging $80 per card and some unknown higher amount if you wanted insurance just in case you had to wipe a card once which would be another $80 without that extra amount up front).
I'm torn on this issue, people have been making money or benefiting from the inadequacies of people that can't do something from the beginning of time. But, this 'service' they are providing kind of seems wrong to me.
What are all of you fine guardian's opinions? Please elude without incriminating yourself if you are someone that gets paid upwards of $800-$1,600 per week (split between the two carrying the nubs). If they only charge $80 and on average a trials run without wipe takes an hour that would be the same as someone making roughly $84,000 if it is an equal split between the two doing the carrying and that is what they did 40 hours a week (Trials lasts for roughly 96 hours; so, if there is a steady flow of individuals that are desperate to go to the light house you could make the bi-weekly wage of an upper-middle income individual in just one trials weekend...)

I'l carry you for simply being in chat and having fun with me. Its stupid and people who pay are just as bad.
-
I think it just ruins the concept of trials. If you're being carried for money it takes the whole competitive aspect out of it.
-
Most people learn from experience. If they are dumb, lonely, depressed and desperate enough to pay, then they deserve to be taken advantage of. It's sad but true. They will realize after the fact that it was a ridiculous purchase. Life lesson learned. The only problem is seeing these jackasses equip an emblem or don the gear in crucible and go 2-17. -yea sure you made it to end game content, sure.
-
Definitely ran into a team carrying a scrub with a blue hand cannon, and shotgun. I definetly proceeded to snipe the carriers faces off while my teammates mopped up the scrub. It was classic.
-
If I was good enough at pvp to carry people to the light house I would be charging people as well
-
This has been around since online gaming, it's not going away just because it's on destiny.
-
I might start doing this if it's really that profitable.
-
And ive been carrying my scrub friends for free!
-
RWT kills games and will lead to pay to win game style.
-
Id post the -blam!-s I give but RNG has yet to drop them
-
All you did is tell me how to make more money with a friend
if i had any
-
Imagine paying that much money for an emblem and a (usually average) weapon between 311-320
-
If you want to pay $30 just to go flawless go ahead, won't bother me.
-
It feels kind of amazing that "We" are the reason these ppl have to spend money try and get passed us to reach the lighthouse, even oryx is not that difficult :)
-
I mean it's a free country. You're free to be stupid as fvck to pay for something like that.
-
First of all, who cares? If they want to charge and people are willing to pay then it's simply a business transaction and that's the full prerogative of both parties involved. Second of all, I absolutely guarantee that they aren't making these ludicrous amounts of money you're talking about. They probably just make around a few hundreds of dollars per weekend of trials.
-
As long as they don't Ddos lag stitch or cheat I don't really care too much
-
If people can't go flawless without paying money then so be it it'll just make things easier when its a 3 v 2 for my team in trials
-
Who cares? Some one wants to blow their own money on a trip to the light house in a GAME than let them. You can spend and waste your money as you wish, just as they can. I personally don't see a point to spend money on a trip to the light house for some gear and a chance to get an exotic. You can do the raid and get same light level gear, except the trials gear is more PVP based. The emblems don't mean sh!t since people get carried and there are the cheaters in trials.
-
Pretty stupid way to spend money, not my money tho they can do what they want.
-
Who cares, it's other people's money. They can do what they want
-
The loot in trials isnt even worth a strange coin. Just got the sniper, selling it for $3.50 if anyone interested
-
Who cares, it's a video game.
-
makes me wonder if someone would pay for your destiny account, just to have everything unlocked. Kind of pointless.. But its as pointless as paying someone to go to the lighthouse. Nothing is there that is great or mind blowing.
-
Any idiot who pays to go flawless is entitled to waste their money.
-
Who cares
