Edit: Thanks guys, I get that I spelled guaranteed wrong I've fixed it now...
I know this has been happening from the beginning of trials and I'm SURE it's very lucrative with some people 'charging' upwards of $120 or more to carry total scrubs to the lighthouse (I was watching a stream where I'm surprised the guy being carried could even complete PvE content, he was charging $80 per card and some unknown higher amount if you wanted insurance just in case you had to wipe a card once which would be another $80 without that extra amount up front).
I'm torn on this issue, people have been making money or benefiting from the inadequacies of people that can't do something from the beginning of time. But, this 'service' they are providing kind of seems wrong to me.
What are all of you fine guardian's opinions? Please elude without incriminating yourself if you are someone that gets paid upwards of $800-$1,600 per week (split between the two carrying the nubs). If they only charge $80 and on average a trials run without wipe takes an hour that would be the same as someone making roughly $84,000 if it is an equal split between the two doing the carrying and that is what they did 40 hours a week (Trials lasts for roughly 96 hours; so, if there is a steady flow of individuals that are desperate to go to the light house you could make the bi-weekly wage of an upper-middle income individual in just one trials weekend...)

Who cares? It doesn't change your experience, and the flawless guns aren't that much better.
-
IDC but IMO it's literally pay to win, but people lose it when Bungie sells emotes? Ok.
-
I've never heard of that. Of course, I'm not interested in anything remotely close to cheating either..
-
I honestly can't believe this is actually a thing. The only thing that bothers me is that people actually go through with it. I mean that's on them and all but just...yeah...smh
-
Why the fûck does it matter?
-
If people are stupid enough to pay for this let the smart people get paid.
-
Please ELUDE?
-
Honestly I don't blame those who are charging, I blame those who are paying. Wow... Spending $80 for a Grimoire card... And then gripe about micro transactions? :/ Wanna know about load outs? Subscribe to Planet Destiny on YouTube or one of many.
-
My buddy paid to be carried, I watched him play and they taught him about the best pvp load outs, what skills to use in the subclass skill trees, how to snipe and such, as I recall they also never lost a single game, every match was 5-0. These two were godly I don't think they ever died and they had a skill level of 50 or whatever. My friend didn't have to do anything, he just sat there trying to get NLB kills lol. These were professionals, they are amateurs out there that shouldn't be trusted.
-
I want more if it. That way my team has an easy way to victory stomping two scrubs and a carry
-
You are pretty delusional bud everyone and there mom that streams destiny is carrying people to the lighthouse. The amount of trials players that have 20 viewers and are capable of carrying is pretty high. Add that into the fact you could make it to the LH with your eyes closed, there really isn't much money to be made lol.
-
It's the scrub's money, let them spend it however they want. If they feel spending their money to acquire virtual items is ok, what's it to you? It's kind of like microtransactions, I guess, except the stuff these scrubs pay for isn't just cosmetic. Let people spend their cash however they please.
-
Who cares. My buddy carries people for free and if someone donates they to his stream they get to go in front of people looking for hand out free lighthouse runs. I see no issue with this.
-
Trails isn't even worth the time, let alone having to pay money for shit gear that is going to be obsolete in few months.
-
It's sounds like you've found a very rare situation. This example you've laid out is hardly the norm. I've never seen a streamer charge 80. I watch several Destiny streamers. Personally, to me there is nothing wrong with what's going on.
-
Friend of mine was offered cash for carries this weekend over twitch. He carried them and directed them to extra life.
-
What if they are at 8-0 lost mercy then lose? What if they just leave and scam you?
-
*Guaranteed* you can't spell
-
Who cares? It's just a game dude, if ppl are dumb enough to pay for it then so be it. Ppl pay money for a lot of stupid stuff these days, like "sports memorabilia" "art" "antiques" "jewelry" etc....stuff they dont need at all but if there is a demand for it then it's valuable.
-
It doesn't bother me at all and there is nothing bungie can do about it anyway.
-
What can bungie do about it? They don't have control over people's decisions. If someone wants a carry then so be it. Nothing anyone can do but complain.
-
What's funny is you can usually find a lesser known streamer and donate like 3 dollars and they will carry you if you aren't a total -blam!-ing retard.
-
Bungie doesn't allow trading because people would sell items for money. They obviously don't care about all the money spent on trials runs.
-
I'm for it. It's a supply meeting a demand, and those with both the skill and entrepreneurial sense should benefit. I would even pay for it, because I'm just not in the 16% of players that were good enough to make it.
-
I don't agree with it. On the other hand, if I was good enough to do it and someone was waving money in front of me, -blam!- it. Let them piss their cash away.
-
Look, if you've got a large disposable income and really really want to go to the lighthouse you should be allowed to.
