Destiny isn't an MMO. Stop comparing it to one.

 • I have played mmo's for 10+ years, Destiny in almost every aspect is an mmo. A good one? No, not really. But a ton of the concepts are there. There is no denying it.

 • It has MMO qualities, but if it were an MMO our fire teams wouldn't be limited to 6

 • It's definitely not a massive multiplayer online. Maybe something like a miniscule co-op online?

 • So the only counter argument is that it isn't "massive." I agree, it's not massive. But there are more similarities to the mmo genre than any other aspect (other than the fps genre, of course) than any other game genre. This game is still in its infancy, imagine where it will be in 5 years. I am almost positive that it will become more like an mmo as the games life span continues.

 • No no, there's definitely more. The quest system (compared to MMOs) is quite lacking. The very small multiplayer aspects in this don't compare to an actual MMO. No player/vendor trading whatsoever. Can't travel in an open world exploring new areas in search of building materials to increase your armor, weapons etc. And maybe a few more that I couldn't think of right now. Just because it has minor aspects of an MMO doesn't make it one. There's a patrol where you have to race your sparrow around and go through checkpoints. Just because it has racing mechanics (or just one racing mechanic) doesn't make this anywhere near a racing game.

 • I see an mmo in Destiny, regardless of what anyone thinks. It's nowhere, nowhere at all on the scale of a large mmo, but it makes me feel the same feeling I get when playing wow. Raiding, strikes, patrolling, PvP, meeting people, making new long, lasting friendships. This is just one gamers humble opinion, and I totally understand your point of view. I just feel that this game pulls on the same strings as playing world of warcraft with me.
