I am going to say NO.
But for a completely different reason.
Despite the lack of presentation, the Raids offer a story component.
- VoG was about the Guardians cracking open the Vault and discovering it's secrets.
We did that.
- Crota's End was about us defeating Crota once and for all.
We did that.
- King's Fall is about us defeating Oryx once and for all.
We are doing that.
SO going back and redoing them makes about as much sense as it would for us to go back and get updated weapons/armor for year 1 missions. I am all for having the old raid gear updated,. but at the same time it should make sense.
Maybe they could leave them at 170 Light, and add the infusion perk. That would make sense.
But my other reason, is because I want Bungie to focus on the FUTURE of the game, not the past. I don't want them focusing on Year 1 content, or updating said content, I want them to focus everything on bringing us awesome Year 2 content.

Valus Ta'aurc was the Nightfall this week. I've been killing him for over a year. I kind of see your point, I guess, but nothing else in the game operates this way. See also: dailies, weeklies, etc.

I don't give a single flying sideways fvck about the order of these events. More things to do is always a good thing and this game doesn't even have a story to mess up in the first place.

Edited by SigilG362: 11/9/2015 4:46:26 AMWhile your argument makes sense, it doesn't answer the fact that Hard Mode exists, nor the fact that we have to grind the bloody things every week until the next DLC comes out.

Your argument is flawed in that sometimes, the game makes you go back and do a mission/strike/raid all over again even though you beat it long ago...but I can see your point, and it's a respectable one at that. Sometimes, a video game should put gameplay above story. I think this could be one of those times.

Offer a story component.. as if we don't replay everything a million times.

Oryx just waltzed into the universe with the generic revenge plot. How did we beat oryx? A bunch of conveniently timed crap just spawns when we need it to. Lore wise it made no sense Atheon however had us using relics forged by the light of kabr and his dead fireteam. Crota was essentially disassembled in order to venture into his world and defeat him. Skolas made no sense but we don't talk about Skolas lol But oryx? Hey there's these random ass platforms that just happen to be here. Oh hey look they form platforms that allow us to grab a thing that allows us to damage the bad guy! Wow!!! Such convenient

Good post

That's a good and reasonable argument :)

Id be fine with old raid gear having an infuse option and starting lower. That way raid gear ( which is supposed to be the "rare/powerful" gear throughout the game's lore) remains relevant
