The Vault is a culmination of Vex efforts in our system, though it's unclear if it created Atheon or Atheon created the Vault. Not only is it an attempt to make the Vex a universal law of reality, but it was an attempt at a Hive throne world. Hence the name Glass Throne

Sweet I did not know that! I knew that the vex sealed with the hive long before the golden age though.
