1000 yard stare is inspired by full metal jacket
If you ever watched full metal jacket, you will realize that Payback said " He didn't get the stare... A thousand yard stare..." don't know the rest, but the scene shows where they are on their bed and having conversation. Bungie if you read this, i hope i am right about that inspiration or accident inspiration
