Pretty much every other shooter - with a few exceptions - on the market is 5 % PvE and 95 % PvP. If you'e not into PvP there's really nothing to stick around for in those other games. Now, the PvP in Destiny is complete and utter shit so I would assume that the vast majority of players here stuck around for PvE. Hence, I don't think the potential dip in population will last long. If Destiny dies it's because of Destiny. HoW hit my friendslist hard and people are already getting fed up with only having a raid as relevant content in TTK:

I enjoy patrolling earth and killing level 4 dregs tbqh. They need to realize who's the HNIC around here.

The raid drops are terrible, but I'm only here for Trials.

I only played Destiny PvE because the PvP is shit. I only play Black ops 3 PvP because it's actually balanced and fun. So black ops 3 can and will take PvE players.

This^ I made a post about exactly the same thing. Although from my time on BO3 today and last night, I loved it! Not missing destiny after 2000 hours in right now lol.
