As most of us know, devs have been banning people from online games for a very long time and for good reasons.
People cheat, people abuse the game, it happens because people suck.
Now, in Destiny we started getting bans dished out from the ammo glitch* if I'm not mistaken.
How has it worked?
Not well if you ask me. We still run into cheaters and other issues as it seems bungie is too slow with the bans.
Moreover if one gets unfairly banned, tough luck, god have mercy on you.
The reason why banning isn't working in Destiny is simple. Bungie doesn't have a chanel for recourse. There is mo way for a player to get any information on how or why the ban happened, let alone challenge the decision. You have to drop your complaints on the forum and pray to god someone hears. (The wont).
If bungie added a proper communication chanel for these issues, not only could it afford to be more liberal with bams and suspensions (more bans faster) but it would go a long way for the players to have peace of mind knowing they could do something about possibly erroneous penalties. It would be a win win
*correction
PS: I have never been banned, just saying. I am more worried because I might be moving to somewhere with bad internet.

Bans have been handed out ever since the heavy ammo hack on last-gen consoles. (People could use a system hack to get infinite heavy ammo). So no. Not since HoW.
