Hey I just have a question. I'm working on a clan myself as some of my friends wanted me to, around the concept of a friendly environment by bringing in mature gamers who are willing to help one another out, but I was just curious as to any advise on recruiting new members or is it just amount to patience and persistence?
In exchange for such information I offer bumps to your post.

It's mainly just patience and persistence. We don't really do much recruiting outside of this thread. My advice would be to have a thread and bump it multiple times daily for maximum visibility.Have your original post describe what your clan is all about, but try and keep it short. Some people will quickly move past a wall of text.Make sure you have a link to your clan in the original post too.No one wants to have to go searching. Good luck!

Yeah, I've actually already made the post and have been doing that for a little bit already, I was just curious as to if there was anything else besides that. Nevertheless I appreciate the advice. Good luck to you as well though I doubt you all need it since you've seem to have already been successful.

I think part of the reason we've been successful is that we have a clear mission and provide a strong community that lives up to that mission. Like Karza said, we don't recruit outside this thread, but when new members join, they often bring in other friends because we do our absolute best to deliver on our promise of a safe, supportive environment for women. There are so many clans out there that talk about providing a mature, helpful, friendly environment. I would recommend thinking about how you can further distinguish yourself from everyone else that promises that. And deliver on that promise - people will learn quickly if it's a clan worth joining. Good luck!

Indeed that is true. My idea to help support such a community would be to have had a post where people could report problems to me, from there on I could intervene, gain insight and address problematic people or even settle any disputes in the clan as to maintain peace since I'm not a biased person. I have yet to really define my clan through editing as to make it unique since I've been busy unfortunately. Another thing I wanted to do since I started doing this already is to start actually teaching people the raid and even teaching them how to run every position in it. There are many who don't get the time of day to actually play or even learn the raid since a lot of people require a high light level and experience, so I wanted to hold classes within the clan to help people obtain that experience. Truthfully I believe your clan's success is also because of the, as you would say supply and demand. There are still a lot of girls or women who are looking, even if not a safe environment but just for other women who they can game with and relate to. As I specifically go out of my way to find and help people on the forums, I notice many of the new people coming in and typically if the are female one of the first things they'll look for is other women to play with even if not for having any bad experiences with guys or tired of playing with just men but because there's a seeming absence of women playing. If you want to play with a female you have to find them it's as simple as that. I truthfully don't care since I'm a guy and when in all comes down to it we are all just flesh and bone, the only thing I've noticed about the difference between my female friends and my male ones is that my female friends are generally more loyal towards me. What I mean by that is they actually seek my friendship and want to play with me while generally speak most of the guys on my friend list will simply seek my help if they need it since they know I can get things done and I will be simple ignored in any other situation. I'm not certain what they difference is in either mentality but it's just what I've noticed. This whole idea that "girl gamers are more mature" and stuff like that is crap, that's just the people you hang around not because of a gender.
