Was reading some information about Halo (I know I know, no place for that here!), but I found something interesting. It's well known that Destiny shares a lot of ideas from Halo. Makes sense given Bungie created the Halo franchise. Personally I really wish they would have worked harder to separate the Destiny IP to make its own vs. reusing elements from their Halo days, but given how uncreative I am, I can understand reusing stuff to make things easier.
So any way, I ran across this: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Mgalekgolo
When a single Mgalekgolo colony becomes too big, the colony will divide in half to create two independent Mgalekgolo colonies. These colonies will share an extremely close and mysterious bond, referred to only as being "bond brothers" or "mates."[8] Mgalekgolo that have split into "bond brothers" are recognized by spiked appendages that rise from their shoulders.[4] The Covenant usually drop bonded Mgalekgolo into combat together because if one of the bonded colonies is killed, the other will go into a frenzied berserk.
Prior to reading this I never even thought as the Destiny Bond Brothers as having anything in common with Halo Hunters, but after reading it, I can see some similarities. At any rate, thought it was kind of cool.
