Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye
"Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December. They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."
EDIT:
A lot of you seem to think im just looking for something to be offended by cuz im a "no balls toxic loser"
Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.
Go ahead meet me with ninja justice for stating the obvious about your shit company and bottomfeeder fanboys
EDIT2
It seems the common defense for Deejs tone is "oh bungie has to go through so much shit and complaining on the forums, people are meanies"
You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

It was a comedic comment because some people don't have a problem with weapon parts because they don't upgrade any weapons. I upgrade nearly all of them. Stop being offended because someone said something you didn't like. Grow some thick skin and letting insignificant joking comments roll off you back. Don't spend the rest of you life getting offended by people. As far as the wormspore I'm wonder why people kept picking it up? I mean Yeah I have almost 200 from the raid, but people have 400+ and still go pick it up? Why!?
-
I have given my business to companies with higher prices but better customer service just because I am a firm believer in treating the customer with respect, now not all customers give you the respect you give them but it's worth not alienating your entire customer base just because some are ass holes. Bungie treats the community as one person because they are to lazy to address us as individuals. I just believe this company has become a poor standard for customer service an appreciation. Their content shows lack of respect for the American dollar and their attitude shows lack of respect for a loyal customer such as myself. I am tired of the way this company treats its content and its customers.

What's with the second to last paragraph? That is basically a shortened version of your post.

Well said. It's a weird place to be when you want to enjoy a game you have spent money on for the last year but are constantly being dicked around. I want the game to change and that's why I'm leaving. Hopefully there are more people like you out there so we can actually make a difference. If not this game is doomed and I'm almost ok with that after this last year of shadyness.

Aw poor ickle baby is angwy and upset What can we do to help you ickle baby? Does baby need dipey change or eat some foody wudey?

"Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand" arrogant douche complains about someone elses tone in a post.. priceless :) "All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation." nobody asked. except for you to go away.

Edited by Maxximus Aurelius Rexx: 11/8/2015 2:08:55 PMThat was good read, makes perfect sense, i.e. the point of these forums was initially feedback on their game and I see a lot of this GroupThink ignored, mainly the fact that the majority of the problems go unfixed and ignored, while a very small percentage of the community gets their way. Weapons parts/wormspore/etheric light are very minute solutions to some pretty big problems (trials cheating (DDos *this is federal crime you think they'd be on it*/lagswitching), glitch exploitation (they did "fix" this one), tremendous amounts of lag on their servers despite good connections between players, poor matchmaking, total and complete lack of an in-game LFG, poor loot drops (if RNG was random you'd get green engrams in the raid from the chests)) I mainly think they are either too lazy or just do not care about fixing any of these problems because they are making shit tons of money "now", but you lose dedicated players through ignorance by ignoring big problems and only fixing small ones. With the money from microtransactions they could easily afford a team or even one person to address these problems, doesn't take a room full of people to solve them.

Edited by bnarsty: 11/7/2015 8:12:22 PMYou turned an asinine post about a snarky comment into a full rant about everything YOU don't like about the game. Anyone who disagrees with you is a dick rider? Go play another game or get a life if sarcasm in the weekly update really pissed you off that much. What you want super serious all the time or something?

I can't wait for you to create something so I can pick it apart and tell you how bad it is. How would that make you feel?
-
110% agree OP. Today OP was not s -blam!-.
-
Must be Snark Week
-
I swear, 90% of the people who replied with some stupid comment didn't even take a chance to read and reflect on what OP had to say....
-
I agree OP- normally I think the updates just waste a lot of text without saying much, but this week I definitely had the sense that deej was making fun of what is now the major frustration in the game for me and many of my friends. Definitely sours me on the game.

I'm slowly decreasing my play time. This is one of those reasons. My 3rd character hasn't even done the first Phobos mission. I'm just losing enthusiasm.
-
I don't think deej has ever managed to put out a weekly update without pissing someone off. He's not a very good community manager
-
Bump, couldn't agree more. People need to wake up and realize that by defending destiny, you're just making the matter worst. While you're defending then, bungie is laughing its way to the bank. All you Fanboys that are butthurt don't even get paid to defend destiny, yet you blindly do it anyway. I'm still on this forum because I hand still hope for this game to live up to its potential through passion and not greed

Edited by zom_bee540: 11/7/2015 12:07:18 AMThere is just to much treading water in this game anymore. I don't believe the weapons parts or low light level raid drops were an oversight. This is exactly what they wanted to do with the game. Slow down your progression. When they fix the weapons parts and raid drops they will nerf some other drops so that your still held back. But they will put out a weekly update saying how they listen to us. Two weeks later we will realize that the new currency they introduced at the time they fixed the other drops is now holding us back. They will repeat this process over and over again for the life span of the game. They play it off as if they goofed it up and are fixing things to create the illusion that they are listening to us. This game is about the grind and truly is the definition of a skinner box. Bungie can't give us enough content to keep us engaged for months on end until the next dlc. So they resorted to treating us like lab rats in a skinner box with keeping us chasing rewards that are few and far between drops. Obviously millions of people enjoy it enough when they get the good drops to keep playing until they get another good drop no matter how long it takes. Now for the other couple of million people who don't buy into this grind and complain or quit playing I got news for you. YOU DONT MATTER TO BUNGIE. Bungie and Activision are committed to this game being a grind fest with limited content. There is no changing things now. Just an occasional juggling of materials and currencies. You either need to accept the game for what it is or just play something else that you enjoy more.
-
Bungie is completely out of touch with their fanbase right now.
-
Edited by jakew: 11/8/2015 9:12:45 AMSo the forms can tell every Bungie employee to -blam!- off and countless other things, but when Deej says "we can do whatever we want with the economy" you guys think that's to far? This is the year of the cry babies I swear. Edit: I found this it reminded me off this thread.

I agree. Bumppppppp
-
Bump.

Yes, I caught the "we have the right to do whatever to the game economy". It didn't upset me but it just made me think "Wtf?" Kind of sad they have that kind of attitude.
