Is it really that difficult of a concept for ppl to grasp? Ppl actually playing new games when they come out. What is this world coming to?

2 RepliesAll they need to do is implement a raid/POE/CoO type event that can be run as many times as you want, and still drops relevant loot. All 3 of my characters are 315+ so strikes, weekly/daily missions, Nightfalls and xur are absolutely pointless to me. I only hop on for the hard raid and that's about it..nothing worthwhile to grind for anywhere else that will increase my level.

1 ReplyHalo 5, BO 3, best sports season in USA (NFL, NBA, and world series) a few weeks after hard mode release and 2 months in to an expansion cycle. A natural lull is going to hit any game, this isn't WoW where you must grind eternal. I expect less players to be on from here until the next expansion. A game is dead when no one buys the next expansion or release, not when it has low players.

23 RepliesFall of 2014. Destiny ruled the roost. By design, Destiny was released BECAUSE there was no competition from big established AAA franchises. The only games being released were niche games with a loyal, but small player base. This trend continued for a year. Fall of 2015. Suddenly, three large fanbase AAA franchises emerge within a month (Halo, Fallout, BO3) with other smaller but popular games dropping as well (Battlefront, Tomb Raider). Knowing this, Bungievi$ion has done nothing to entice fans into staying except "promising" yet another raid mode and finally starting year two ToO. Both of those game types are non-matchmade multiplayer modes and are unique to Destiny. Therefore, Destiny has become a niche game. No new content has been announced by Bungie. "Stealth dropping" time-locked content will fail. That design only works when your player base logs on daily. That is not going to happen with the other titles already out or coming soon, not to mention the general unhappiness of players due to constant nerfs, poor rewards, and general dissatisfaction with the game (boredom).

Must admit BO3 is pretty damn good, however I still enjoy Destiny equally. Both great game and both will get my game time.

Yep, I played pretty religiously throughout year 1. TTK has made me lose interest faster than any other dlc for some reason. When they re instituted the mind numbing grind I think that's what killed it for me. Haven't even played in a few weeks now. Just popped in to see what's been going on. Apparently nothing exciting. C ya.

8 RepliesYes. A game dies when even the complainers stop posting complaints, as was the case for 343 in Halo 4 PvP and MCC. Shows the Company could care less about players and the players have just given up hope for change or even meaningful Dialogue on what needs to be changed. A clear sign of this is usually the "Community Manager" keeps spouting irrelevant crap as the population leaves the game - sort of like Nero Fiddling while Rome Burns. By refusing to even mention they are aware of how terrible PvP local Console Hosting is and saying when they are considering adding Dedicated Servers, Bungie talks about Weapons parts which was an issue months ago when TTK dropped. And instead of spending money on dedicated servers, they have micro transactions for Emotes and Halloween or Live events. You want to have me come back to play Destiny, go get some Dedicated Host Servers so that Crucible isn't the laggy - host lag switched - IP local DOS fecal mess it is today. Likely the cost of these live events and the team of of people whom are patrolling Crucible / Irritated Bowel / ToO for Cheaters would pay for having dedicated servers.

This DLC has about done me in...not sure I want to invest more time in a new game, but my Destiny play time is down to a trickle. I hate the Raid reward system, I haven't improved my light in the past 2 weeks...I shouldn't be getting 300 light gear from hard mode when I'm already 315.

3 RepliesDestiny is like a star. Yea, I believe it is starting to collapse within itself. But for now it provides enough energy to sustain life for a long while. I thoroughly enjoy this game, but a 10 yr grind fest, no thank you. I've only put more hours in battlefield 3 and borderlands 2, and have almost squashed those with my destiny hours. Halo was like a firecracker. Pretty to look at, but after a short crackle and a loud bang its pretty pathetic. And BO2, lol, a black ops game is never a game killer. Fallout 4 has great potential, unfortunately so many people that are fans of those style games are here right now, like myself. I cannot sacrifice my Destiny time trying to grind and farm my way through the wastelands with my pip-boy. I will buy it, but I will probably not play it. Just like I did with Advanced Warfare Elder Scrolls Online Master Chief Coll. Far Cry 4 DA: Inquisition Assassins Creed Dying Light Evolve Forza Hardline Battlefield 4. To name a few. Destiny is so good its bad.

Bungie is going backwards, everyone else is moving ahead. I got BO3 with all 4 DLC zombie maps for 110$. Game and season pass. If destiny stuck to the normal way of business and sold season passes for their dlcs and actually listened to the community instead of doing what they want to do some of us might not be included in this mass exodus. But im afraid its too late.

It's inevitable when Bungie keeps punishing it's player base with shit rng design and zero improvements to the game. Halo 5 is -blam!-ing breath of fresh air, been stuck in this pointless grind for too long.

I played this game literally everyday from launch. Halo came out I haven't played in a week except for 5 mins while I waited for friends to jump on. The competition for Destiny is real whether people want to admit it or not.

Can we stop with the 10 year game bullshit? There isn't a 10 year plan. Bungie signed a 10 contract with Activision, that's all. Hell, Bungie even handed off large parts of Destiny 2 to another studio. Worst part is, a lot of Destiny 2 is cut content from comet. For those that don't know, comet was the dlc that got whittled down into the taken king.

Yeah, that's just silly. 4th quarter is always when the market gets an influx of new top-tier games. The player base is always going to be fluid.
