WoW. Most pay over 400 bucks for expansions + gaming pc + subscription fee for it. They've introduced microtransactions for mounts, skins and more in that game. For a quite big price. Is anyone complaining on that? No?
Don't act so entitled. Nobody forced you to buy anything. You spent 120 bucks while you could've gotten it all much cheaper. You can simply ignore all emotes or other microtransactions as they do not matter for the game.

Does WoW take content away from you if you don't buy the new stuff? Does WoW not improve flaws that have existed for almost a year? Does WoW make all of your previous gear worthless with some releases? Just curious.

It's not just Destiny which does that. It's apparently common. And bugs wont be fixed instantly, that doesn't happen with any game.

Yes. I was a long time wow player, been in recovery a few months. WoW absolutely requires you to purchase expansions. To participate in most events you have to be max level. Gear is also obsolete raid to raid. With gear becoming outclassed by quest rewards and dungeons multiple times each xpac. What wow does better, is story and community. Destiny needs guilds with built in social features and general/lfg chat for major cities. (lol, our one minor city?)

"Don't act so entitled" - everyone who can't win an arguement_ xD

Was there an arguement though...?

Edited by Nosmoth: 11/4/2015 9:11:52 PMAgreed. I bought a £600 gaming pc and paid 2 £15 subscriptions for eve online for 4 years. Destiny is significantly cheaper than that.
-
That was tour fault. I payed for eve for 6 months, them earned enough isk to fund another 2 years of play, free of charge. And your telling me that you never once used that pc for something else?
-
I didn't say it was anyone else's fault. And yes of course I have use my pc for other things, however I bought the gaming pc for gaming. I do have a 2nd pc that I could have used if I wasn't gaming. And yes I could have bought plex to run my accounts (I lived in c5 space so isk was never an issue) I just preferred to pvp over pve since the pve in eve is terrible and I could afford to run two accounts with RL money. The point if my post was to point out that there are far more expensive games out there than destiny and people should calm down and quit whining.
-
The problem with that argument in my eyes is that Destiny is not an MMO. Besides every MMO Ive ever played justified the sub price with regular updates and patches. Eve as you likely remember gives out every expansion sans cost. What does Destiny provide for that cost? What have they really added to the game using their Live team? A slightly better than last yeat Halloween event? More Iron Banner? Same old Trials? What about for the cost of the DLC? Disclaimer: I did not buy TTK. The plan was to wait a few weeks and get it if it is overwhelmingly positively received. That, in my opinion, is not the case. There is no justifying the foibles that Destiny has for me. Spent the better part of 700 hours or so in year 1, and any more feels like it would be a waste.

Agreed it is peoples money to do with as they please.
-
Usually it's teens with PS4/XBOX gift cards. The more they do it, the more companies will implement it. You want the black matte shader... well, you can have it for the exotic price of $10. That's the trend, and it's not a good one.
-
Are you seriously comparing WoW to this trash of a game? Destiny takes all of the shitty aspects of any MMO and mixes them with good FPS mechanics.
-
I honestly dislike WoW. Any MMO actually. But no, just making a point of the microtransactions and the how whiners think they're entitled to free stuff. WoW is still running very well after all these years, despite the microtransactions right?
-
Yes but the amount of content you get with a WoW expansion usually blows Destiny's out of the water. I don't mind paying if the content and quality is there. However, offering minimal content for quality prices and then on top of that they sell useless emotes. It is cool they are adding to customization but they should have as many developers as possible working on this game. Quiver still isn't fixed, Rewards for raids and Trials are trash, getting ghosts and strange coins for Nightfalls, why did they nerf reputation gain, and the many other issues with Destiny.

No he's talking about eso
