-The ridiculous impact can one shot revived enemies, completely ruining the point of over shields on revives
There are only a handful of Snipers capable of doing this, Bungie just made the mistake of giving one to everybody right out of the gate.
In any case, so what? A headshot should be a kill regardless. If you can't count on a Sniper to consistently score kills on a headshot, then why bother using one in the first place?
-Very High Target Acquisition
Aim Assist is the word you were looking for. This generally varies between archetypes, and in many cases is more trouble than beneficial. But I can understand what you're saying. Unfortunately given the laggy state of Bungie's servers, without any kind of assistance, it's unlikely that anyone would be able to hit anything at all.
-Little to No Recoil
Again, this varies, and there are many perks that improve Stability in order to control Recoil. Also, guardians are kind of like Super-Soldiers. We're infused with magical light that allows us to perform incredible feats of athleticism and magic. Our armor is intertwined with our own neurons and purpose-built for maximum combat effectiveness. Enjoy the fantasy.
-No Sway
Refer to the above point. It should also be noted that during the Golden Age and beyond, it's likely that Weapon manufacturers were able to develop lightweight weapon frames, recoil-compensating barrels, gyroscopic stabilizers, and number of other advancements in weapon handling.
-No bullet drop, or velocity limitations
Outside of Earth, those variables would change drastically. On the moon, for example, Gravity is a fraction of what it is on earth, and there's little to no atmosphere to speak of. Referring back to the previous point, it wouldn't be too far fetched to think Manufacturers could have also developed scopes that automatically adjust based on inputs by lasers and sensors that detect environmental factors such as gravity, atmosphere, windspeed, and the Coriolis effect.
-High rates of fire (Similar to scout rifles)
Actual .50 Cal Rate of Fire Skip to 1:30 for the Demo. Also, check out the way the barrel compensates for recoil and the final grouping of his shots. Now multiply that by hundreds of years of technological advancement.
-Head shot hit boxes are big
About the size of the player's head, from my experience. lol
-The Number of Semi high ROF snipers added make NLB and make any bolt action snipers completely useless and irrelevant
NLB is the only bolt-action Sniper in the game, and it's kind of been irrelevant since its inception. It fills a niche for a very specific type of player, but don't try to compare it to Special weapons.
-Felwinter's Lie
The most offensive sniper of all. I'll be damned if this thing ever makes a comeback. ;]
-Can outgun regular CQC weapons because of all listed above
Sure, they CAN. But it's highly unlikely. If you're being actively shot at (Which by the way, in your video, you weren't) the odds of you being able to land a headshot while flinching from the rounds hitting you is very low, and the high zoom of the scope makes sighting in your target difficult in close-ranges.
As a part-time PvP player with a combined total of 2,808 Sniper Rifle kills, Sniper Rifles perform exactly as they were intended.

Yeah this 1000 times over. There is a reason OP didn't respond to this comment and its because it is 100% correct.

Mr. Butthurt, it's an honor. lol

Nice response. No sarcasm.

Unless I see the OP is displaying an incredible lack of respect and/or intelligence, I tend to keep my responses focused on the facts. I may not be the best player in the game, but I do my best to understand the way it works. Reading lore, comparing weapons and perk combos, etc...

kudos to you fine sir!

Hey smart ass. Aim assist is not one word. It's two words. Target acquisition is bungies way of renaming aim assist/bullet magnetism. Your points did nothing to prove the author wrong. Hidden hand is the shot package of snipers and it should go. Too much aim assist and there needs to be bullet drop and sway after hardscope for more than 2 secs
Hey smart ass.
You sound exactly like the type of person I'd be interested in having an intelligent and meaningful conversation with. Let's do this then...
Aim assist is not one word. It's two words.
Good catch, however, in reference to the concept itself, the correct grammatical application of the phrase is as I used it, in the singular. But I'm glad you can count. Can you tell me what comes after 2?
Target acquisition is bungies way of renaming aim assist/bullet magnetism.
They're not the same at all. Target Acquisition augments the location of the player's reticule, and assists in keeping track of a moving target. Aim Assistance augments the location of the round after it's fired, this is primarily to compensate for lag. If you've ever tried to shoot a phalanx with a Raised shield, you're familiar with Aim Assistance. If you've had your aim thrown off by an enemy running across your field-of-view, you're familiar with Target Acquisition.
Your points did nothing to prove the author wrong.
My intention wasn't to prove him wrong. Not everything is an argument. I was simply providing some insight as to why the "issues" he mentioned may be the way they are.
Hidden hand is the shot package of snipers and it should go.
Final Round was the Shot Package of Snipers, and it already went. Hidden Hand doesn't improve your odds of getting a 1-hit kill by improving the damage potential of the weapon, it just improves Target Acquisition. Which, without the aid of a skilled player, is as good as useless. The Omolon [armory]Eirene RR4[/armory] with Luck in the Chamber is about to become the new Shot Package. If you want to demonize anything, go for that.
Too much aim assist and there needs to be bullet drop and sway after hardscope for more than 2 secs
Again, this is a Futuristic Fantasy land where things like Space Magic, Liquid Munitions, and Laser Cannons exist. We achieved Faster than Light Travel and populated the majority of the planets in our Solar System. Guardians are Supernatural Beings resurrected by and imbued with the power of a levitating Orb in the sky. Humans, Awoken and Exo alike, all reborn for the sole purpose of fighting a War against a multitude of Alien species sporting their own varying flavors of technological advancement and magical abilities. Relentlessly trained in the Crucible to become the most efficient killers in our immediate Interstellar vicinity. The concept of Fatigue simply doesn't apply. To aid in our battles, weapons manufacturers have advanced the tech on their weapons to execute seemingly impossible feats and perform unerringly in all conditions. Homing Systems, Recoil Compensators, Holographic Smart Sights... Not to mention the magical infusion of elemental damage types to kinetic weapons. You want a real-life FPS experience, go play CoD or Battlefield. Destiny wasn't modeled after real world restrictions. Finally, have a great day. –MAD X H0USE

Cod and battlefield are terrible examples of real life simulated shooters. You are obviously lacking experience in the shooter genre as a whole to think that

Dude your future fantasy land excuse could've been applied to shotguns regarding shot package. I bet your argument is sniping takes more skill when really it doesn't. I do both and am quite successful at using them i bet even more so than you. In my conclusion, sniping is is just as easy as shotgun-ing maybe even more so. My learning curve with sniping was a joke check my headshot percentage with that thing. Started sniping and watched my k/d skyrocket not surprising since i'm very far away getting easy kills against ppl that can't defend themselves. However it has been dropping playing 3v3 with friends of somewhat similar skill level. Snipers in this game are used wrongly. They are supposed to be a long range weapon. Scopes like shortgaze shouldn't even exist on them. I find the players that complained about fusion rifles and shotguns were players that forced the use of snipers even on small maps. Which is extremely dumb. I have literally seen players like that rage about shotguns on maps like anomaly. I question their logic. Then there's the high fire rate snipers that i don't even wanna get into right now
-
You made yourself look extremely dumb by trying to look really smart again. Target acquisition is aim assist. If you don't get that you are missing chromosomes. Hidden hand is even worse than shot package. It helps you get headshots you otherwise wouldn't normally get. It does increase your chances of a one shot kill because it involves bullet magnetism to the head. How can you defend bullet bending? Like da fuq?

Except with our space magic, if we stop sprinting to take a breathe we evedently need a glass of water too lolz. (Referring to sprint cooldown.)

We may be strong and magical, but we're not particularly good at Cardio. lol
