Exotic shards?

Hello, I was wondering what are the different options for obtaining exotic shards? I have a couple of exotic gear but don't want to dismantle them if there is another way. Thanks! Wommbatt

Dismantling exotic gear is the only way since xur stopped selling them directly (but you can still buy an armor from him for 13 sc and then dismantle it for a shard).
