This number (4775) meant more to me when destiny had a traditional value to it
The MIDA multi tool meant more to me when destiny had its traditional value to it (I lost my favorite weapon without reasoning or excuses from bungie)
The thought of beating the bosses without worrying about numbers on light pieces or who was "higher light" was way funner, not to mention more pleasing, when everyone got around the same loot drops to achieve their level - with different rolls- and made grimoire a different story
What this broken tradition does, by removing weapons/grimoire, is removes the players who have invested the most time into trying to enjoy this game and alleviates their preferences regarding destiny. This new system takes luck and makes people believe they are better without having as much experience (like grimoire actually once showed)
Not to mention, This "light" change takes all the pleasure out of rewards when they do not benefit us at all... (being 310+ and recieving a useless 300 helmet for beating hard mode oryx doesn't give me much incentive to do it again if that's always what I "Could" get. And my group finishes it pretty quick ussually) - before you were concerned about higher grimoire being the issue ruling over low grimoire, and now higher light levels have the same issue except it's twice as bad. Because being 310+, why be held back by a 306- who doesn't know what they are doing (and may not have even raided before- atheon or crota) and I've Sherpa'd my fair share already. Just saying, having grimoire and light would have been WAAAAAAY SMARTER
I don't care about the nightfalls today, I don't care about the raids today, I went flawless last weekend, and that was less pleasurable too even with all the sniping- I LOVE sniping (but no elemental weapons, a slap in the face with a MIDA wannabe scout rifle, and a legendary emblem instead of the anticipation of another exotic one like before)
Less emphasis on what players really like/want + broken traditions and promises + every day the MIDA isn't here = every day I find less and less incentive to play
And I've loved destiny for a long minute now. But this game is literally going in the direct path I thought it never would. I'm not gonna say the crapper, because it's not there yet but it is getting real close.
But really Not addressing why the MIDA is gone, and mentioning the handcannon shotgun situation over and over and nerfing them is one thing (I feel for all of you too.. Even tho I used to hate thorn) but leaving out a favorite weapon is blatant disregard and a false promise to all that bungie did give to the community at one time
I was hesitant because of the repetition getting this game. But the MIDA brought me in. Regardless of destiny's original repetition, that gun got my attention and if you want to see many others disregard you, stop playing, and stop investing in your sly schemes like ever verse: THEN STOP CUTTING OUT THE THINGS THAT YOUR VETERAN PLAYERS LOVE THE MOST. Maybe I would have bought the stupid thriller dance if the MIDA was in the game, but why do I want to "throw money" if all you care about bungie at this point is probably your paycheck and not what the players really want.
TRUTH
Until the MIDA gets back in the game, I will not play as much. And I never wanted to say that.
Mastacheef, Spartan 117, is going rogue due to lack of weaponry and broken tradition
Til' next time guardians... Hope my words were enough benefit you one day in the future AND your favorite weapons also don't get ripped from you without a reason
