For Hunters only. Titans welcome since this kind of concerns you, but keep the coversation polite. If I see a single hammer or fist of panic, you'll be booted out the door with several void arrow's up your rectum. No Warlocks.
So it has come to my attention that we've somehow gained this reputation for crying about Sunbreakers, like we're a bunch of whiny-a** Warlocks. Now I know it's not all of you, it only takes a few rotten apples to spoil the bunch, and most of it was probably just Warlocks in cloaks trying to make us look bad (they're manipulative like that). But you few Hunters going around being crybabies and giving the rest of us a bad name, STOP IT. We had our time being rulers of the Crucible, a little competition isn't a bad thing. Besides, who do you think gave that super to the Titans? I mean come on, a super with the mobility of a Bladedancer and the lethal range of a Gunslinger?
Too many Warlocks were complaining about how offensively built we were in Crucible and giving us flak for not giving them enough support in raids (Even though Bladedancer's have been the team medic since the very beginning!). So Cayde and a select few Hunters got together with Zavala and Shaxx, and proposed a deal. Show us the way of the Void and make us one of the best support classes the City's ever seen and we'll help make your Titan's unstoppable behemoths in the Crucible. They eagerly accepted. Even the name 'Sunbreakers' was an inside joke to annoy Sunsingers (eventually we plan to name a set of Night Stalker exotic boots 'Voidwalkers' just to get on their nerves further).
Sunbreaker's fine as is. If anything, we should be calling for buffs on all the other supers; with the exception of Voidwalker and Striker, both subclasses do what they do well, which is deal out heavy amounts of AOE damage.
Suggested Gunslinger buffs
Our Golden Gun needs a damage boost. In the 2.0 update, Bungie raised the power of GG because some Sunsingers running Radiant Skin and the Ram were able to live through a shot. They even stated that in all circumstances GG should be a one shot kill in the Crucible. Now we have Sunbreakers able to live through it just by running max armor. Just bump up the damage a little on it, and we should be good.
Stormcallers
Storm Trance either needs a very slight damage boost, or better armor. Right now they're still pretty squishy, which is not a good thing when your super can take a second or two to kill. When I was running my Titan in a rift game, a Stormcaller started digging into me with Storm Trance and I was able to super up and kill him with a single hammer before he could finish me off; when I'm running my Hunter I just kill them with a shotgun or put some distance between us and get them with my primary. Instances like this are only going to increase as people become more accustomed to countering it.
Nightstalkers
Shadowshot's good, on the instances it works as intended. In PVP it needs to function more like it does in PVE and not bug out as much. That means instant suppression and tethering ON HIT, not whenever the tether decides to activate. Also the damage on it is bugged. At times a direct hit will one shot a max armor Sunbreaker mid super, other times a direct hit will only do 110-120 damage to a regular Warlock or Hunter with no defense buffs. And fix Blood Bound so that it shares full damage among tethered opponents, not a small portion of it, so that people have a reason to use something other than Quiver on occasion.
Bladedancers
Even those of you licking wounds from year 1 have to admit Bladedancer's pretty tame now. The super armor's been nerfed to the ground and even before the rise of the Sunbreakers it took to two slices to kill a regular Titan or a Warlock wearing the Ram. Good luck getting close enough to do that to a Sunbreaker or Stormcaller. Even the only two decent grenades Bladedancers had were heavily nerfed, and it was already the subclass with the worst grenades to begin with. I say bring the super armor back to where it was at launch, and bump up the damage on Arcblade. A ranged move wouldn't be bad either, it's always bugged me that it's the class that's all about knives, but it's the Gunslinger's that get the throwing knife. Granted there's Razor's Edge, but that's impossible to use in the air and aims based on where you're running, not where you're aiming, making it impossible to use when strafing or backing up. I'm envisioning a built in move on the super that doesn't require a perk, were we press LT to hurl the Arcblade for a one shot kill at the cost of the rest our super energy. No aim assist or AOE on it. You could use it at the start of the super for the chance of one ranged kill at the cost of instantly ending your super or save it at the end as a kind of Hail Mary to get one last kill in before the super runs out.
Sunsingers and Defenders
Now for Sunsinger and Defender. If you've played Mayhem, you'll know these are probably the weakest super's you could use. For Sunsinger, infinite grenades just doesn't cut it when everyone else is already hurling massive explosions and shooting instant death everywhere, and self-revive will just get you killed again. Defenders are a purely defensive subclass, enough said. The problem is I'm not sure how these could be tweaked without unbalancing them in other gametypes or messing up their use in PVE. I'm open to suggestions, but it just maybe that these Subclass's supers will just have to keep their niche status in the Crucible.
Come on fellow Hunters, even with everyone complaining about how underpowered we were in PVE, we still carried on with our heads held high. Now we're the best in PVE too. Heck, it was OUR Vanguard rep that put a Guardian on the Dreadnaught. If we band together, we can beat this bad reputation too.
Tell a Titan only a madman would go. Tell a Warlock it's too complex. Tell a Hunter they can't do it.
EDIT: So it looks like we're trending. Glad to see everyone being so positive and polite. Keep it up! In fact the majority of the few complaints I have got seem to be from, unsurprisingly, Warlocks. Told you they can be whiny. Anyways, Cayde-6 has just informed me he's finally removed the pile of rocks Eris left and reached the liquor cabinet. Now that the kiddies are asleep, let's start passing out shots!
EDIT2: So much for polite conversation. Pass out some booze and duck out for a bit, and this is what I come back to. Not so much the Titans, you guys are alright. I was a little worried, what with your love of punching things, I'd come back to a massive brawl, but you seem to hold your liquor pretty good. I do see a few Hunters and Warlocks tussling in the back though. "Hey, break it up!" Fellow Hunters, come on. You're better than that. If you see someone trollin' just show them to the door, don't sink to their level. Those of you getting shown to the door, what's your problem? Most of the Warlocks here have been very well mannered conversationalists, one even brought chips for everyone, why are you causing trouble? Here I am, just posting an alternative to nerfing Sunbreakers that would benefit everyone and all you few have done is hurl insults at Hunters and prove you're every bit as pompous and immature as I made you out to be; AND are the reason I said no Warlocks. Be a better credit to your kind and show some class; loosen up a little, join in some civilized discussion.
The above only applies to a few people (you know who you are) most of you have been great. I appreciate all the positive comments and discussion going on. Keep it up!
