About No Elemental Primaries

Now it's clear to the community that since the release of TTK Elemental Primaries are a thing of the past. Bungie has stated that there will be no burn on any primary weapon (excluding the Zhalo Supercell). Now there are people that are upset with this change as well as people that enjoy it. Personally I do miss the burns but looking at it from a developers POV I do see why they changed it. Raid weapons and even Trials weapon were favored more then their Kinetic Damage counterparts and made them seem as an unworthy choice in weaponry.. In PvE at least. Bungie, in response to add more variety, they removed the Burns completely so that players wouldn't have to grind for specific "must have cause it's better than everything else" type of weapons. This gives players a vast choice of weaponry and allows them to utilize whatever they please in PvE/PvP. Now I had an idea not too long ago that could actually work and still keep the vast varietyof weapons. Xür, not too long ago, has brung this magnificent consumable that changes the properties of your Exotic Armor, called Glass Needles. Now my idea was that Xür could sell another material that wouldn't change the properties of your Primaries, but add a burn instead. Now this burn would be randomized of course and will give you a 33% chance of netting the burn you want. Now this comes with a catch. Since this material is extremely valuable it should maintain its value. So a pricing of this material should consist of Weapon Parts, Motes, Legendary Marks, and of course Strange Coins. Now this could be "broken" by just constantly re-rolling the weapon for the burn you want BUT this can easily be avoided but developing it so that you can only apply this material ONCE per weapon. Notice how this idea still maintains the variety of weapons used and grants the burns to the primaries because I think that Bungie chose the wrong route when they removed it completely. *NOTE: This isn't a rant or me whining or anything of that sort. It's simply an idea that I thought of and am curious to see how the community feels about it. Thank you for reading this, please share your thoughts, and have a great day.
