Update: since starting this thread I have received some helpful responses from users who answered my questions. Thanks.

I think OP is asking two things of people who have played Halo 5: 1) how do the characters swear 2) is there unavoidable nudity of any kind. Op would like to avoid some things in a video game. We can be cool with challenging stuff in games, I think we should also be cool with someone wanting to keep it "clean" in A GAME. As a father and a husband, I know I need to be careful about what is on my living room tv. Op is trying to make an informed decision. I don't own an Xbox one, sorry for off topic post.

Repressed much? If you believe god made you and it does such great work, isn't it disrespectful to change its work by putting clothing on?
-
You didn't have to mention your Christian and the games fine
-
Edited by Eirikur: 11/3/2015 6:02:49 PMI don't think they ever use those words. Halo is pretty neutral. And I wouldn't actually say Cortana is "nude". She's not a human after all so she can't really be undressed right? So I think you'll be good!
-
I'm a Christian and everything is fine
-
-blam!-ing bible thumpers
-
If you've played any of the other Halo games then you should be ok with Halo 5.
-
Oh dear god...
-
Hahahahahha
-
Why does it matter if it does? It's just a game and we live in 2015 so either get used to games using controversial topics or go play Mario
-
Mormans are less sheltered than you lmao
-
Jesus dude I know Mormons who aren't as sheltered as you.

Edited by DogChamp: 11/2/2015 12:51:15 PMDude, stop. I'm a Christian also, but seriously, this is the modern world. We don't have to worry about the pop excommunicating people, and I'm sure that God wants everyone to be happy, as long as it does not harm anyone else. It's all in having fun, and sure you may go around shooting, but that's for a war to protect humanity from aliens following a false prophet. The multiplayer is actually just a training simulation for the players to pretend get ready for the pretend war. Don't worry, playing this game will not actually make someone violent or become drafted for the military, that's just a myth. As for Cortana, that's her choice of how she wants to appear. She actually wears cloths throughout the whole series, although it is skin tight, and is the same color as her skin (which is odd.) But seriously, this isn't the Middle Ages, you don't have to do whatever the pope tells you! (Especially if you are not catholic) I'm sure God will forgive you or your child for playing a game. Back a long time ago, there was a lot worse things that people did, and even today there are 1,000,000,000,000,000 times worse things people can do. I really don't believe you can actually be legit though, considering you are on a gaming forum.

Edited by Sellout: 11/2/2015 7:40:56 PM1.) Buck does mention the word God in a sentence near the beginning but not in a negative way. 2.) The Covenant can sometimes be heard calling the Master Chief a "Demon", but that is due to him standing in the way of their whole religious deal with lighting the rings and whatnot. 3.) *Kind of a Spoiler, not really though*
Cortana is shown in a cutscene near the end and actually doesn't appear as nude has she has in previous games. However, if it still does not appeal to you then the cutscene can be skipped.
I bet you'd love Assassins Creed..
-
I am Christian too But why complain the content?
-
The stuff you say you don't want is all that you see/ hear at my school...
-
Satire right ?
-
In a game where you murder countless enemies and sneak up on people to brutally kill them with a knife, I don't think breif exposure to a woman's silhouette or the possibility of maybe hearing mild religious language is that much of a realistic concern. Just my opinion.
-
Don't listen to most of these comments. As you said, they're immature and like to offend as many people as possible.
-
Well there's at the beginning intro, Buck saying:
I figure if God can hear how scared I am so can everyone else...
Other than that, not really. Cortana's nude like appearance you mentioned was just a silhouette, but other than that you're good.
-
I don't remember any expletives, and Cortana was fine (coming from a Christian)
-
Tmw >50% of the story is strongly religious based because of Statens faith.
-
Judging by what you've said here I think you'll be fine. The game is fantastic it's definitely a must-buy.
-
I'm not very far but so far it seems fine
-
This game is RATED T. Have you ever played Halo before?
